Molding, trim, doors - How far should we go?
Comments (3)Consistency is best, but there can be a certain consistency in non-uniformity. Are the stained windows within one room? Are the french doors? One option that you have that also has historical antecedents is a stained door with white trim, windows/ trim, and baseboards, and you could do this throughout the house for a certain amount of consistency. If the windows with the stained trim are all in one room, perhaps that entire room could have stained woodwork. Note that doing stain grade doors throughout the entire house can get relatively pricey. The key is to have a rather consistent plan or hierarchy and following it....See MoreHow can I decorate above the kitchen cabinets space??
Comments (4)Fake ivy twining all along the top would be perfect. NOT! The space is fine empty, with no decoration, usually that is best. Usually people who post with no punctuation and no photos do not return. But for others looking at this thread, IMO there is one display item that is OK on top of cabinets. Comments (9)Doing nothing as it looks fine is always an option. Or.... I think a wonderful use of that space is to install rope lights on a dimmer and leave it empty giving you awesome ambiance lighting. If you wanted to put a cool long sign up there with the rope lights that would be okay but nothing more because it will just be heavy and cluttery looking. IF you need more storage in your kitchen then you can display some of the nicer pieces, knowing you have to wash them before use. Or you can enclose the area for more storage, Adding glass cabs is probably the best way to get more storage...See Moredecorating above kitchen cabinets
Comments (2)Don’t put stuff up there. Just leave it be. Not everything needs to be decorated. You don’t need to add embellishment to every space in a kitchen....See Morepricklypearcactus
