Both will have issues if you have another leak. Porcelain tile won't.

If I was brave enough to use solid strand Bamboo again it would be the Cali or Morning Star. Make sure you acclimate it thoroughly.

I have always liked the ceiling and trim a crisp white and then using the color on just the walls. It gives the rooms a very light and airy feeling.

White Oak is not the thing that scratches. It is the FINISH on top. That's what 'scratches'. Bamboo is grass. They are often finished in Aluminum Oxide which is the stuff that is SUPER hard to scratch. When made properly, bamboo grass planks have 30% adhesive. The density and the AGE of the bamboo plants create a 'hard' plank. Most bamboos that are in the same price range as unfinished white oak will NOT be the good tough hard one's. Guaranteed. A GOOD bamboo floor that has 'aged' bamboo (harvested at 7 years or older...9 years is better) that is 'strand' and that has been treated/formed/created using the super good glues/adhesives and are finished with Aluminum Oxide START at $12/sf. The $4.99/sf stuff is bunk. A solid hardwood in a regular plank width (3" - 4") is going to be much cheaper to purchase and install. If you want TOUGH FINISH (doesn't scratch) you need to have the planks finished in 3 coats of Bona Traffic HD (not 2 coats) or 3 coats of Loba 2K Supra AT (not the regular WS 2K Supra). The TOUGH finishes will prevent the scratches on the wood/grass. Technically the GOOD bamboos can be refinished. You have to find someone who is able to do it. You have to find someone who is willing to remove the Aluminum Oxide (expensive process...can add $2/sf onto the $5/sf cost of a sand and refinish). Staining bamboo can be tricky because it is 30% adhesive and adhesives do NOT take stain the same way the grass fibres take stain. If it were me, I would find a nicely priced 3" White Oak plank for $6-$7/sf and have it sanded and finished in place with my favourite satin finish (I LOVE the Loba 2K Supra AT....it is SOOOO stunning and SOOOO grippy and SOOO VELVETY underfoot) in the toughest option.
