HAVE: Over 400 Varieties of Tomato Seeds
Comments (35)I am wanting to do a trade. I would LOVE to try your: SOLAR FLARE variety and only need about 5 seeds. I have these varieties that I did not notice on your list: Burgess Lemon (only 5 seeds from Wintersown and several years old) Hovarth (only 2 seeds left from Wintersown and several year old) Peacevine Cherry (10 seeds from Kenyon Organics, probably 2 years old) God Love (5 seeds from Kenyon Organics, probably 2 years old) Abe Lincoln (about 10 from Livingston Seed Co, less than year old) San Marzano (about 10 from Organic Ferry-Morse, less that year old) I am rather new to this forum and unsure how to proceed. Is there a way you can message me to exchange addresses? I can send a SASE....See Morelooking for low cost greenhouse supplies
Comments (14)Admittedly I am new to the greenhouse scene, but from what I have seen, most of your greenhouse equipment can be purchased elsewhere, when it is not labeled as "For a Greenhouse" I picked up a Thermostat controlled Window Box fan for 18 bucks at HD I got a Temp controlled ceramic heater for $29 from Costco. One person on this site mentioned using a solar powered RV vent/fan, I found that on EBay for $30. Now do not get me wrong, I am sure there are plenty of Items for greenhouses, that are so unusual, that you would not find a substitute elsewhere....See MoreUnknow bird and sick fox?
Comments (8)poor fox! At first it looked like he had a form of leprosy, but I knew that couldn't be. I found a link that describes what he has---unfortunately it's a long, slow death. If it's still around, I'd call a game warden and maybe they can come put him out of his misery. "Sarcoptic mange, a skin disease caused by a species of mite (a member of the spider family) causes lesions in the dermal layers of the skin, accompanied by intense itching. These lesions open to the surface and extrude a nasty looking mess with an odor similar to dirty sweat socks. The lesions eventually cover most of the infected animal, somewhat similar to leprosy. Death is almost always the result, often from a secondary infection or possibly hypothermia or frostbite."...See MoreWhat's wrong with this picture?
Comments (53)"Even if GW is wrong where is the harm in moving away from fossil fuels??" First, you may be right. We may need to. But, your question shows a complete lack of understanding. Our worldwide society has trillions invested in an oil infrastructre. "Moving away from it" is like suddenly deciding hospitals are causing AIDS so we just need to quit using every hospital in the world and build new ones. It could be done. It might even need to be done, but don't fool yourself into believing it won't come at monumental cost. Money going in to that changing and rebuilding that might go to other things like starvation, education, housing. Then, what if we spend all that time and money going to new hospitals worldwide, only to find the old hospitals weren't the problem, or worse, the new untried hospitals have even worse long term effects? As we have seen new technologies often appear to be cleaner or better early on only to be discovered to have a bigger can of worms when we have more experience with them. Lastly, putting any group in charge of intentionally trying to change and manage the weather world-wide scares me more than the risks I KNOW about from GW right now. We have done our dead level best, on what we have known at the time, to manage our national forests and lands in the West and have time after time seen that we screwed up and needed to make big changes after decades. Put a bunch of govt types in charge of purposefully trying to monkey with the weather world wide? NOT my idea of a smart thing to do unless its absolutely clear what we are doing or absolutely clear that we HAVE to do something. And, despite the media induced paranoia, we aren't close to knowing those things are true yet....See Moreehlenfeldtlori
