They are the Venetian - 24 inch stools. They are really comfortable and clean up nicely. I spent a long time agonizing over counter stools and I'm happy with them! They have a bar in the front and on the sides - it's a good position for a foot rest. They look great with the soapstone. Even though the soapstone is on the perimeter and the marble is at the island, I like it a lot. I didn't want to try to match the island. Good luck!

Or at least she pretends that :) I don't have as much faith in me as she does! Hi romy718 - somehow I misremembered at thought you had quartzite countertops too. Funnily enough the only other stone that really matches mine albeit in a tiny sample is the imperial danby from waterworks! Thanks for the feedback on the stone - I feel it's not too characteristics of CG but the tiles are small enough they are show more movement than color. I also have a 1x4 sample of the CG and my DH really likes that. It echoes some of the other shapes in the room well, especially the horizontal movement. I'm concerned with that one that there might be too much horizontal movement and that the larger tiles seem to show more patterning. I'm really biased with the small square sample I showed because it reminds me so much of Roman mosaics. I think I really love it based on that rather than how much it's an absolutely perfect match for the style of the room. It makes me really happy to see it and I'm not sure if that's a good enough reason to choose it... I also felt this way about my mother of pearl tile sample but the tiles that I received weren't a good match for the sample (and DH wasn't a huge fan). Anyway, thanks for the feedback! I'm hoping my kitchen turns out a fraction as nice as all the gorgeous GW kitchens :)

I'm sure you are all aware of the danger of copper residue ingestion, but just in case... As a historic reenactor specializing in Gt. Lakes fur trade, I encounter a lot of copper, esp. nested kettles. Our club makes a point of using copper and brass containers for cooking only if they are tinned inside. We can use them for water holding, even drinking water, but if any acid food or similar substance gets to eating at the copper, it can create something that can poison us. Having once drunk cider from a container of silverplate on copper that must have had some verdegris along a scratch in the silver, all I can tell you is plan to be sick to your stomach, very sick. And that's if you are lucky. If this had gone on a lot longer before I drank, am not sure what I would have done. Water in copper pipes is safe to drink and candy or popcorn made in a brass or copper kettle is standard practice. I know a lot of people cook eggs and sauces in copper containers. Just be cautioned about chemical reeactions. On another note, am very curious as to whether anyone knows much about zinc sinks and countertops. These were common a century ago, I believe.
