Cherry Wood Feedback for First Time Homeowner

Hi! My fiancé and I just closed on our first condo. It's got cherry wood flooring throughout and cherry wood cabinents with a black/red fleck granite. Backsplash has gray/white tones.

We want to refinish the flooring before we move in as there was some wear and tear and we figure now is the time. The professional I met with told me we could keep it cherry or go with a darker stain (picture of darker sample is first photo below). If we keep things cherry, we could save a little money and avoid painting the cabinets (or never do that). If we stain, I think we will probably need to repaint the cabinets. We will be repainting the walls a lighter shade of gray by Benjamin Moore as these are quite dark in person but changing the backsplash or granite isn't in the cards right now. So, I'm looking for feedback and advice. Should we:

  1. Refinish but leave floors and cab cherry
  2. Refinish and restain darker, ultimately paint cabs
  3. Refinish and restain, leave cabs
