Comments (5)I don't have an answer for you but suggestions of how you might work to an answer. Some paint manufacturers have an app on their website where one can upload a picture of their house and try out different colors. When I tried this before it didn't work perfectly so that I ended up with a gorgeous finish rendering, but it worked enough to get me in the ballpark of understanding what a given color would look like on the house. If the mfg. you're using doesn't have such an app, use another manufactures as if you're working with generic colors. Even if you can't buy samples of the actual product, you could have sample paints mixed up to replicate the same finish colors very inexpensively, and do sample boards that you can view in front of your house, from a distance. I do a lot of visualizing using MS Paint and would experiment with it. If you could get a sample of the applied color that is large enough to see in a photo of your house, you could use the tools in Paint to replicate and hand draw that color into the areas in question. If you place the sample color in front of your house and photograph it with the same camera that you photograph the house with, that would be one way of getting it so that you could use it in Paint....See MoreHelp! How do I build an attached garage to our house?
Comments (2)Looks like you might need to reslope the driveway to one side or the other so it drains off instead of running towards the house. OR put in a French drain across the driveway to catch it and direct it into a pipe that exits somewhere downhill (like to the right in the pic)....See Morewe added on a pergola to our patio and planned to paint it white?
Comments (9)We have painted a lot of things here over the years. Our preference is to paint the wood BEFORE the structure is built ;- ) so you build with the already-painted wood and just need to do minor touch-ups for screw/nail holes. We applied two coats of primer/sealer and then two coats of a Benjamin Moore exterior latex (because I can’t stand the smell of oil paint and the clean-up is more difficult with oil paint.) When the finish coats are not white, the primer gets tinted the same color as the finish coats. Some of the things we’ve painted are 20 years old now and have not needed repainting yet. White things do show dirt/algae easily and need periodic washing. The oil in cedar bleeds through the primer easily so we sometimes applied 3 coats of primer on it - and generally avoided using cedar again after that!...See MoreAdding attached garage and updating exterior
Comments (3)Please make sure the garage doors sit back from the front edge of the house. A walkway from the street to the front door is IMO a must. If by any chance you are replacing windows I would get rid of the arched one for sure.I think some landscaping would help but of course hard to tell with all the snow....See More
