First, thank you all for the feedback this is why I wanted more opinions. I have more pictures but can't seem to upload more than one at a time. It is nice to hear that at least the cabinets look good from afar. They are not solid cherry if they were solid cherry fronts, I agree I would not be so quick to paint them, they are just a cherry veneer. I included a close up of the cabinets to give you an idea they aren't in great shape. Bee - your kitchen is amazing! thanks for the thoughts. I never noticed the orangey floors but you are right they do look that way and now that I am looking at it, it is overcast from the cabinets. Good idea of painting up a couple of boards, I have little swatches taped all over the space because we get a lot of sun movement in the space throughout the day. The table is 108 inches long, I am drooling over James Moder florale chandelier but need two of them. I don't think I could get DH to agree to three! LOL. A couple of responders noticed the island, the island is a just big box, open box deal, I don't think we paid $300 bucks for it, its a dark stain. Not worth refinishing. I would love to replace the counters, but with the sq ft we need it would be double that of a professional painting the cabinets, and I am really afraid that they would just look worse!

My husband is not one of them anymore ;-/ joanieponie thanks, I am looking for a light color for this room, it is on the dark side of our house and doesn't get much light. Plus a color to possibly make the 2 Ive chosen make a little more sense together. My painter says it looks like an ode to the Dallas Cowboys...eeeek!! As an Eagles fan I was especially concerned! I remember looking at raccoon hollow & its medium/dark taupe I think. Does look nice next to Revere Pewter though!

Boy, I can relate to all of these posts. I have RP in my open floor plan. On the walls that have natural light, it looks OK (not my favorite) but the adjoining family room with the screened porch next to it blocking the light, the walls look like green/yellow mud and I am stressing as to what to do. My trim & cabinets are off-white so i have to stay with the warm greys. I've even tried Sea Salt which looks dull. I'm going for an LRV of 65+ so I'm trying the sample board with the Repose Gray at 75% with the idea of the adjoining kitchen/nook at 100%. We will see. Next I'll try the Gray Owl - OC 52 i think. Beware.......there are two Gray Owls! The Oc 52 is the lighter version. To complicate matters, I have a beautiful silver gray sectional sofa that I'm working with. I appreciate all of the posts here.

We had the issue that a lot of the grays we tested in our BR were looking very lavender. Ended up going with silver chain (BM 1472) at 50% form. If you like one of the colors you have tested above, you could try it at 50% perhaps.
