L shape living room&kitchen furniture layout dilemma
Comments (1)ok, i think you can do banquette in the corner, 2 on the outside 1 on each end, 2 on the inner banquette for when you have company. I would put the tv on the back wall, have the couch face it and 2 chairs either one on each side or 2 on one side that swivel. remember to measure and tape out before you buy....See Morelayout dilemma living room
Comments (7)Couches are not "a focal point" in a room. Focal points are typically architectural things like windows, fireplaces, or can be a large piece of artwork or a unique lighting fixture. And those couches specifically should not be highlighted in any way. Couches also need to be pulled into the center of the space, they should not be pushed up against walls in an L configuration. And gray is not a "bold" color. So now that we have that cleared up ..... the first thing you need to do to determine furniture configuration in a family room is to decide where the TV is going, and then situate the furniture around that. And oddly enough there is usually only one place a TV can go in a room, so it's usually not much of a decision. From what I can see, it looks like the wall it is currently on is where is has to be. So then pull your couch into the center of the room to face it. You will need to get rid of the love seat, there is not enough room in that space for it. Then get two accent chairs to complete the seating arrangement. I wouldn't put anything on the "odd" angled wall next to the TV because it will just draw your eye to look at and it will just distract from the TV. Just leave that wall blank as is so that it just "blends" away. Then get a larger console to go under the TV, the one you have now is too small. Remove the mirror on the wall. Remove the drapery panels and replace with blinds....See MoreLiving Room Layout Dilemma
Comments (18)Mounting the TV over the loveseat makes no sense. Due to the openings in the room you have pretty much the only layout possible. Personally I would change out your decor items. There are too many of them. Some nice colorful art will add to your room....See Moreliving room+ dining room layout dilemma… tv above fireplace?
Comments (3)I understand why you wanted to have the bistro table/chairs on the window wall between the patio door and the kitchen passageway….it makes sense to have your dining area adjacent to the kitchen. The open wall at the opposite end is the perfect location for the tv. So swap the sofa and loveseat and anchor them and the cocktail table on the rug (front legs of sofa/loveseat on the rug), so the loveseat will pull in closer to the fireplace, leaving room behind for the dining area and access to the patio door. The square end table could then be placed in the corner between the sofa/loveseat....See MoreCarebear3117
