I like the photo with the teal propeller. Now, before we go any further, let's get some sizes down. Everything I've done so far is a guesstimate. I need a real measurement, like the length of the three-seater section of the couch. Then I can better estimate the size of the art.

I also think you need a rug that is truly mid-toned like the one in the Photoshopped image above.

I will get measurements tonight. The rug I purchased needs to go back to the store. Plus a 8x10 is too small for the area. Have to find a larger one. Grover, when this is all done, I need to send you a gift.

Add large or many complenetary pieces in the same color palette to fill up that wall. Think high. Also, add more browns, tans, sandy colors, and add softer or darker hues of coral and teal - peaches and bold dark blues can complement the neigboring room and don't have to match perfectly. Keep the room airy and soft by focusing on the tans and browns

If the couch is just over 7', then all the art I've Photoshopped is probably pretty close in size. The teal propeller canvas is just under 7', so it looks about right.

Yes. Please do not cut up that canvas. Go back to art.com's loft art and see if they have that one. You can refine by subject and they had lots of airplanes, so it's possible they have it or one very similar.

I don't see any of the art solving the problem of everything looking low and huddled together with massive empty wall space around it. Above all, I wouldn't cluster a bunch of little pictures together above the couch, it would just worsen the huddled together effect.

A very long wall hanging or other long, vertical art (could be a bit dimensional or textural) would tie the empty space together from top to bottom. Or a large hanging light fixture or modernist ceiling fan. Reminds me of a ceiling fan I saw at Lowe's the other day: Fanimation Studio Collection Covert 64" Indoor/Outdoor Ceiling Fan.

However, you'd need a really long downrod to bring a ceiling fan to a level that would tie in with the seating area. Same would apply if you went with a light fixture. But I do think one or the other could tie the space together nicely.

I would consider breaking up the large span of tan wall with paint. For example, paint the lower portion a much lighter colour and the top portio a darker colour. I think this would help to eliminate the feeling of living in a tall box. I think it would also make artwork feel more balanced.

I may take back what I said about the black and white one. I thought it would be too severe, but it adds a lot of drama if you want to go that way. I like all the other rugs, with the last one being my least favorite. See what you think.

It’s actually a dark navy blue it looks super dark in the photo but not that dark in person actually looks pretty sweet ! Here we go...the look might be changing again. Omg! Haha

Navy and dark brown may not be a great combination. It's two bold colors fighting for dominance.

However, let's consider something else before you get set on a carpet. These are Getty exhibition banners. They are huge: each piece 3' x 8', two pieces per set. They are $50 or $75 for the set. They are used, so they will show some wear and tear which may or may not add to their charm.

Take this FWIW; it's just my opinion, but I love this rug and like this look a lot. I changed the orange pillows to rust to match the banner.

OR I put the corner piece of the sectional in the lower part of the ceiling. Have it connect with the window couch.

Scoot the single loveseat over and put the rocking chair next to it. Then get something to put in that corner where the two large walls meet like A tall artificial plant (not referring to a nasty generic corner plant).

I'm not sure how all these pieces get configured, but let's see if we can get that settled before we do anything else. I would not rearrange so it extends further into the opening into the dining area. However, in this photo here...

Ok....I had to move things around just to see ... staring at the tall corner had me thinking.

In this arrangement, the loveseat encroaches on the dining entry, the rocker can't see the TV, and the lamp is dwarfed in that corner. What about leaving the seating as it was except scooting the loveseat to the right a bit under the window so the rocker can come up to join the sofa and loveseat like so:

Ya. The size and lay out is good but not the image. Fine art America has large pieces for a large price. I’m thinking of getting insulation foam and wrapping it with a neat textured wall paper or a neat shower curtain. If it looks horrible, I don’t have much to lose.

I have a 2-story living room in which I hung 2 "kuba cloth" antique African textiles, over 18 feet long each. Kuba cloth can address a vertical art issue in dramatic fashion! Photos of examples, but also google "kuba cloth"........each one is handmade with a variety of differences.

Going shopping today with hubby. Going into this, I thought it would be easy peasy. Not so much. :)

It's a nice piece of art, but unless it's 7 or 8 feet tall, I don't see any way to use it in your room.

I think nothing short of a beautiful floor to ceiling wallpapered wall will do. Then choose a color in the paper and paint the walls next to it a shade or two darker. I know, you've already painted it but either you do something big and bold like my suggestion or have all these prints and stained glass items scattered on it and it will look tacky. Just bite the bullet and do it. It will look sensational and be the focal point of your home and receiver of many compliments and wall envy. And don't be afraid to use rich deep shades in the colors you're using in the rest of your home.
