I spy a bright white cabinet door at IKEA! Axstad matte white
Comments (62)@tee8 We just got this fridge for the remodel and it’s working great. We wanted the in-door ice and this model has that without making the left hand door feel too bulky. We had a standard depth side-by-side from the 90’s before buying this one. It only stuck out a few more inches but I think it makes the kitchen feel totally different to have everything flush. In the tight U layout, every inch counts. Space-wise I much prefer the top/bottom fridge! I have no idea if we gained or lost cubic foot storage but it feels like everything fits so much better....See MoreIf I buy this house....
Comments (25)Remodel costs depend on your area. So you may not be looking at a $50,000 remodel job. There are ways to keep costs down. What’s important is to not throw significant money into a temoorary “fix.” That is money that could go toward your dream kitchen. Spend time on this site learning what other people have done. Comments (42)Olychick, That's a great idea for a pantry, if my kitchen was to stay as is now, I was also thinking of adding a pantry in that section. I was gathering ideas with my husband about a layout plan if we were to tear down the kitchen. If so, we will definitely add more cabinets, with more cabinets then I wouldn't necessarily need a pantry as I would already have more storage space, compared to now. In that section that you mentioned where the pantry could be placed, we thought about connecting the counter top and either adding a lazy susan on bottom cabinets, then connecting the counter top all the way around sort of like an "L"shape extending to a small bar area in that case the stove will most likely stay where it is at now and the refrigerator would be moved far right next to the window where the sink is at. Don't know if that sounds confusing, but I'm designing the layout in Ikea Home Planner to get a better visual. :)...See MoreDo IKEA drawers work without a drawer face on them?
Comments (4)Yes, we went months before we installed the drawer fronts. You didn't say whether this is DIY, but I strongly disagree with GreenDesigns about it not being a bargain. Here's my thread where I compare pricing for custom doors: [https://www.houzz.com/discussions/barker-doors-vs-semihandmade-vs-scherrs-in-ikea-kitchen-results-dsvw-vd~5182903[(https://www.houzz.com/discussions/barker-doors-vs-semihandmade-vs-scherrs-in-ikea-kitchen-results-dsvw-vd~5182903) Having said that, IKEA didn't have the white shaker door when I did mine, and it's definitely easier to just work with what they have....See MoreHU-221788792
