What furniture color to blend with living and dining room

I need advice in what color should I use in the family room to blend with what I have in living and dining room. This is a beach apartment, that I want to give a relax atmosphere and comfortable.
The apartment has been remodeled, open white kitchen, white floors all around, paint: light gray
In living room I have 2 slipcovered off white sofas from Ethan Allen. I am planning to buy a sisal carpet, jute color to blend with dining chairs.
Dining room is a dark brown table with 6 rattan style high back chairs from West Elm. In the same layout is a small family room where I want to put a sofa bed, what color should I use, to blend with.

We are installing hardwood throughout the entire downstairs.The revere pewter is actually through french doors off of both rooms but you can't really see itwell from either room so I am not so worried about that going with the other rooms as much. It is mainly this view I want to flow well. I considered van cortland blue for the formal living room but it might be too dark/bold for me. I tend to be more neutral/conservative when decorating. Comments (11)Was your living room done by a decorator? It's beautiful but seems so impersonal. I would suggest a large carpet for your dining room in warmer colors than the living room, since the wall color is warmer. I would look for original art, not just some prints that look good, but rather something that touches your heart. Since the dining set is traditional you could also look for a mirror with an ornate frame. I wouldn't pick just traditional art, though, because the living room has a more transitional vibe. Comments (3)Once you have furniture in your space the chair rail will not be noticed on that side. It will not be the focal point. Your furnishings and artwork will be what people will see.
