Raspberry plants - where can I buy some?
Comments (29)catfishhoward , Sorry... I didn't click the checkbox for updates on this thread or I would have responded sooner. By the end of year 2, your tissue culture plant and the 3-year raspberry plant will be the same size, so there isn't much value in buying bigger plants, at least in my opinion. Older plants in pots often need to have their roots trimmed because the very quickly circle the pots they are in and won't grow as well unless you trim the roots, which will set the plant back a bit. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you... hopefully Willis delivers live plants...they don't have a good reputation for online orders. I did notice that Bay Laurel Nursery will offer Baba next year, if you change your mind or need replacements. I know you want to get big plants fast but the fruit business takes some patience because if you do it right, these plants can provide fruit for 10 years or more. Put in bad stock and you'll be doing this again next year. One of the better ways of getting a lot of raspberries fast is buying rootstock. I have purchased Anne, Caroline, Tulameen, and Cascade Delight raspberry rootstock from Scenic Hill Farm Nursery and it worked great each time. The plants establish quickly and you have a whole patch instead of 2 or 3 plants. I'm not sure they are in season but they sell through Ebay as well. If you plant the rootstock for Fall-bearing varieties like Caroline or Anne in the early Spring you should have fruit by the Fall. By the next summer you will have a whole patch of healthy raspberry plants. If you go with bareroot stock, you will get a bigger root system and the price is usually pretty low. All of my black and purple raspberries were planted as bare roots, except one....See MoreADENIUM seed or plant
Comments (10)Well, I get exotic named varieties of seedlings on eBay for what I consider a very reasonable price just to see if they will thrive under my cultural conditions as house plants. I wouldn't consider starting seeds because I would end up with too many seedlings....See MoreWebsite recommendations for buying tubs online?
Comments (2)I second the recommendation for Quality Bath. I bought almost everything (toilet, sink, all faucets and shower hardware, etc.) from them for the bathroom we renovated last summer. Their prices were great - if you call you can sometimes get a lower price than shown on their website - and the people there were extremely helpful. They were honest about shipping times. We are about to start another bath, and I will buy as much as possible from them....See MoreRankin/rating on-line sites to buy fixtures/tile?
Comments (6)I have tried many as we are working our way through mudroom/bathroom/kitchen/bathroom/bathroom/etc.. I have had good luck using Home Depot's online site, with which I feel comfortable because I can resolve problems locally. We have ordered a bunch of Daltile of various types, faucets, and just recently a Kohler toilet with no issues. Shipping has been quick and items have arrived safely either to my home or the store. I have also used Wayfair.com although they are catch-as-catch-can for plumbing and tile -- some things they just don't carry. However, they have great customer service. After ordering a lot of various items I got an e-mail out of the blue from a sales person who identified herself as my "renovation consultant." I tested her by asking about a medicine cabinet installation kit that wasn't on their website although the cabinets were. She tracked it down and I got it in a few days. Other minor issues have also been resolved quickly, such as my ordering bathroom sinks in the wrong color by accident -- I had the replacement sinks even before they could have received the ones I sent back, no restocking charge, and they even restored my rewards points. They are based in New England so shipping has been very quick for me in Maine but shouldn't be bad to Florida....See Morelouise_9954
