So often when we hear or see the "Made in America" slogan, we think about jobs and the economy. And these are certainly important considerations when buying products of any kind. Good for our Economy, Better for Your Health And even more important than the economic consequences of a product's country of origin, is the risk to the health of you and your family that foreign-made products so often carry. Scarier still, is that the #1 catagory of product recalls is home goods and the hazards cited for the recalls include: • lead • poisoning • and even cadmium China has proven itself to be the worst offender but other countries cited on a list published by the US Consumer Product Safety Commission, include: • Taiwan • Mexico • Hong Kong • Thailand • India • and Pakistan Plantation Shutters Made Better in America Plantation Shutters Florida handcrafts all of our products right here in the USA (please visit our workshop in Stuart, Florida) using only safe and reliable components. Comments (4)Your room is lovely. My concern is that all of the trim is stained in my office and dining room. I am afraid that the white will stand out and not blend with the wall and trim colors. The trim and walls in the two bedrooms are similiar to your photo, and I think the white would look great in those rooms. I will not rule out the white, but I would appreciate more input....See MorePlantation shutter panic! What do I do?
Comments (11)Ok, I know what you mean about visualizing, I'm like that too. Here goes....the sill cap is a "cover" that goes over the existing window sill. It is simply cosmetic as it is larger than the existing sill and would make the shutters "blend" better with the sill. This is an outside mount. From the side, as if you rested your cheek on the wall, a gap is visible because the sill cap can't slide toward the window quite far enough (because of the "fancy" trim on the sill edge). I'm still practicing with that new camera. Could anyone post pics of their plantation shutter/sill situation? Maybe I would luck out and be able to say "yes yes--like your situation!" Thanks for trying to help me figure this out....See MorePlantation shutters in custom colors
Comments (4)Agree with nini804. If you call shutter companies in your area, they can paint them whatever color you want. Just be aware that if you are looking at a color other than some shade of white or natural wood, that it may hurt resale down the rd. Ie, if you paint them yellow, gray, blue, etc, someone buying may want a different color scheme, and painting installed shutters is a bit#h....See Morevintagestuf
