Window treatments for a NON window treatment type girl
Comments (14)We are not window treatment people either, but have started to add some as we've reno'd/decorated a few of the rooms in our house; two bathrooms and our office. They really do help to finish off a room. That said, we're not covering our kitchen bow window, or the DR bow window, though I might consider something for the DR window at some point--just for the window panes themselves, not to cover the whole bow-unit. We used Hunter Douglas' Designer Screen Shades in the Roman Shade style (ours are mounted inside the frames becuase of our window style/frame depth). The shades are very clean-lined and range in sheerness. With the sheerer weaves/fabrics, you can see outside with them down and they allow a lot of light in....See MoreWall and window treatment colors for dining room
Comments (9)Your living room couch is absolutely gorgeous. I'm sorry, but I just can't see pink slipper chairs in that room. I would make the chairs the same color as the couch in order to not make the couch look like the odd man out. A few comfortable chairs and perhaps a love seat along the far wall in a similar style and material to the couch would make for a warmer, more inviting look. The carpet, although beautiful, does rather limit the colors you can use in that room. In the dining room the taupe chairs and gray walls actually look great together. You don't want everything matchy matchy. This is a much more sophisticated look. I'm afraid I'm no help with the curtains in the living room. To me the safest option would be to make them the same color as the couch. You could introduce color with some great art on the walls. I don't know if you like abstract art, but in that room the right pieces would look very good. I imagine you're not at that stage yet, but something to think about. Of course everything should speak to you and your taste; I'm just offering random suggestions. You have a lovely home which will be stunning when it's completely furnished and decorated....See MoreWall color and window treatments sunroom/kitchen
Comments (0)I have a grey kitchen that opens up to a yellow-green sunroom. I would like the rooms to have coordinating decor--feeling like an extension of each other. I am planning to incorporate a more buttery/mustard yellow with the grey in the kitchen...so the sunroom yellow and window treatments as they are won't work. I'm thinking to add the buttery/mustard yellow and white window treatments in the kitchen. But not sure what to do with sunroom. Should I paint the walls in the sunroom the same color as kitchen and change the window treatment to a coordinating pattern with those in the kitchen? Or paint the sunroom more of a buttery/mustard yellow...a paler version...and then do grey toned window treatment (maybe same pattern as in kitchen but grey)? I'd love any suggestions for best way to tie the rooms together with those colors, without feeling overwhelmed. Note: The furniture in the sunroom is NOT what I'm planning for there...it's only temporary. I have shared some pics to show layout, and colors. You will need to look beyond the kid art and clutter! Thanks for any help!...See MoreWindow coverings, accent wall colors and flooring colors needed
Comments (0)Hello, my home interior walls are SW Silver Strand with white trim. Living Room/Dining Room areas needs helping hands to make them attractive. Leather beige/cream furniture, burgandy wall hangings, black wrought iron and no curtains at the 4 long 120 inch living room windows. Dining room has sliding glass doors that lead onto lanai with burgandy window coverings. All floors will be covered with luxury vinyl planks in the colors you suggest to coordinate with the silver strand walls. Can you help me make these rooms pretty and attractive and at the same time say, welcome? Help me find the right curtains for the windows, the best floor colors for the floors and would love to have an accent wall color. All suggestions appreciated.....and, you cannot hurt my feelings. Thanks bunches and bunches for your helping hands. See photos. Thanks....See MoreRelated Professionals
