Emperor I: did I make a mistake?
Comments (3)It depends on your location and specific growing conditions, but Emperor 1 can reach dimensions similar to Bloodgood - in my climate, 30'x30'. And it grows a bit more rapidly than BG does as well....See MoreDid I make a mistake?!
Comments (5)I don't think it looks bad. have you given the siding a good washing? maybe that would help. what I would do is prune your shrubs (or completely redo the flower beds) and replace those colonial looking thin posts. I think if you did some thicker, cedar posts, the added wood would look nice even thicker white ones would look better. you plan on redoing the door color? here are some other garrison type of homes. this one was Fixer Upper almost identical to yours. so look at the way she did the porch, the posts (see how much nicer the thicker ones look?) , the flower beds, and the porch lighting. (and redo your house numbers ) Yours is all white, and they did this one in a green/gray. If you copied this to a tee,, including the landscaping, your house would look great! I like how this front door style matches your window. I realize yours isn't as wide as the other, but you could do a diff front door. I'd also paint it an aqua or soft yellow or black, if you're going to do this one. if you do your solid door black, it will disappear. few other white on white. flower beds and porch posts, lighting and door color, will be huge....See MoreHelp with mud room/laundry paint color - did I make a mistake?
Comments (14)Ok, I went and picked out some blues, I was hoping to get a pale blue that doesn’t look too beachy and doesn’t look like a baby’s room. These are the swatches I selected. My husband came in and said “why do you have such depressing colors?” Are they depressing? In order top on left: BM beach glass, BM mount Saint Anne, SW sea salt, SW rainwashed, BM quiet moments On right: BM New hope grey, BM smoke The other colors I have in the house are Phillipsburg Blue, Revere Pewter and Greenbrier Beige (which is going away). The new cabinets were just installed in the kitchen and the perimeter is white dove and the island is Hale Navy. For a moment I considered that for in here... too dark?...See MoreHELP! Did I make a mistake? Bathroom Vanity and sink
Comments (4)“you should measure your sink an inch longer than the vanity itself” makes no sense. Do you maybe mean the vanity counter or top? The reason for having the vanity top longer than the vanity box is that you will have a nice drip edge. That means that when water gets to the end of the vanity, it will dangle there and form a drop and drip to the floor instead of running down the side of the vanity. This is only a problem if you are planning to have water sitting on your counter top. That is why I asked how many sinks it will have. It may be an issue if you have sloppy people with a sink close to the end of the countertop (like when you have two sinks), but is no problem at all if you have one sink in the center of a 60” vanity. You would have to be pretty messy to have water dripping down the sides with one center sink....See MoreAlison
