HELP-How to clean wood veneered table??
Comments (5)My treatment for all woods is oil. Lemon oil, teak oil or just plain old mineral oil. Actually lemon and teak oil is just mineral oil with coloring and scent added. It nourishes the wood and prevents it drying out. For your table, first I'd clean the surface of the table with mineral spirits and a soft cloth, to remove any dirt, grease or food. It will evaporate fairly quickly. Then polish and nourish the wood with a food grade mineral oil. Food grade mineral oil is safe for any wood surface that will come in contact with food....See MoreHow do I clean an Ethan Allen wood kitchen table?
Comments (3)Hi there, I have had a New Country Ethan Allen round table for 4 years now and have the same film and streaking that you are referring to. Also have young kids. I have tried Murphy's oil and another cleaner with no luck, in addition to warm water and dish soap. I put the leaf in the table recently and there is a dramatic difference between the new leaf (nice looking wood) and the streaking of my older table. Very frustrating as the table and chairs cost over $2400. Any help would be appreciated!...See Morehelp- magic eraser used to clean wood table
Comments (4)Depends on the type of finish and how thick the top coat or clear finish is. Take very fine #0000 steel wool and try to rub out the white steaks. Sometimes a poly finish that is sanded will turn a white color but if its a thick of enough finish you can rub past this with steel wool and still have enough of a top coat left....See MoreWooden carved doors... Comments (6)That’s trapped moisture and a lacquer finish. Adding more potentially incompatible finish won’t help. They really need a refinish. A local antique restorer probably has a line on a dip tank to strip them, and he can put a more protective modern 2K finish on them that won’t have issues with your high humidity. Good luck!...See Morerichfield95
