Debra, I had not thought of Memphis as a possibly it very well could be. My Memphis was blooming today and I took a picture to compare. Mine has a little more peach than the noid but different parts of the yard, soil, etc. Dearest Valentine has had to fight heavy dew, cool nights and lots of rain this year. But the color has been great. Spot arrived as a drop off-after taming her I made two vet appointments only to have her disappear the days of the appointments. Then we had stay at home and vets were only doing emergency-before I could get her in she had some boyfriends. One baby is spoken for but four to go! Sherry, Stargate Portal has been lovely this year. And ditto to finding good homes for my babies! Heather and Julia-it definitely is a mishmash in there-if you could only see all of it!!! Please ignore the 'pro' debby downer, who can't seem to say anything positive about anything. IMO! Will the paneling be vertical or horizontal? I really like the stone to the ceiling in your rendering. If you imagine what will go above the mantel (no tv but likely you will need large artwork because of the scale), if you stop the stone and do paneling above the mantel, then add art on that, you'll get a bit of a chopped up look - 3 materials (stone, wood, art) instead of just 2 (stone, art). I also think it will look nice from the upper floor to have the stone all the way up. If you hang art above the mantel, I don't think the tall stone look as imposing; above the painting will not be dominating, as your eyes will focus on the art and the fire. I've been looking for inspiration pics with cedar paneling and stone fireplaces on a vaulted wall, but they are hard to find.

IMO the space is very crowded and not a good work space . I don't even think sinks need to be at windows since we spend so little time at sinks if we use out DWs properly and to place a sink to look out at the great room really makes no sense . If the stools are in use there is no way to access the stuff behing them all the walkways are too small . Are you an actual KD or just an ID Kitchen design begins with function and clients need to be guided by that function . Often clients need to be told when something they want will just not work.IMo first fix the function then worry about the pendants .

You are a dare devil for chopping off the deck on your split ranch, and I love it. I just had a blast scribbling on your house too! Your last inspiration pic gives you a great spring board. Focus on creating new squares and rectangles that align with and distract from your current windows. Create a shallow trellis around the first floor doors - center the left on the middle of your 2nd story triple doors, and center the right on the middle of your 2nd story double windows. Make an iron railing outside the second story doors, a very shallow balcony the same depth as the trellis and line it with some pots of greenery. Make a rectangular hedge around the patio to give more geometry for the eye to focus on away from the wall of the house. Add in ground trees on the left, with some heft. Towards the middle and right go for tall evergreens set in urns, mixed with some shorter ones. Something else needs to happen with the second story far left window and far right double windows. Not sure what.
