However, we ended up getting different pendants, which are 3 pieces of the mini Darlana pendants from Visual Comfort. They don’t have the glass so easier to clean and so far, we love them. Good question! I did think about that. The kitchen has a double window on the working side of the Island and a triple (just about as wide as the Island) on the non-working side (about 10' away) and is open to the family room, which has additional sources of light. I was thinking that would be ok, although I do understand it would be different at night. I'm open to criticism on that point if you think I'll regret it....

Hi Rachel Lindy Brady, The standard for Pendant lighting is 30 inches in-between each pendant with a height of 18 inches from counter top. You want to make sure its a t least 6 to 7 inches from the edge of island as well. That is standard but depending on the size of the pendant it will also effect the spacing as well if you stager them.
