Comments (40)i am menopausal at 53. I live with a 32 year old man. We do fine. Sex has many dimensions. First see what vitamins you need. Sometimes lack of energy is the problem. I do ten hour shifts at times, and I sleep a lot when that happens. Sex? I tell him to go do some porn. So jobs can just mess things up. Porn, by the by, can turn you on too if you take time to find what you like to hear and see. Trust me, its out there. Take time to get turned on if he won't do it. If he won't then maybe you need someone else. If he will, experiment. You are sex researcher Dr. Cocktease, and you are going to see what gets the nights hot. Play. make up stories. Fun is something that does wonders for everyone. Do different places. Do you have a yard or go camping? Tents can be fun. We set up one in our living room and played camping like kids once and had a great time. Consider that while the body might have problems (I have serious hip arthritis, for instance), the mind is the most important sex organ there is. Think about what made sex good in the past. Think about stuff you are intrigued by but never did. Imagine these things, find pics of them, watch videos if those are good. Read stories on the web or write ones of what you think would be the best sex night (a great candlelit bath with flowers, a nice night taking turns doing rubs, whipped cream on parts being licked off, pretend meeting for the first time somewhere, dirty talk, whatever) and make time to do them. Get with yout man and talk about it. If you have hope of seeing results, this can turn things around....See MoreDiet Pills?
Comments (5)texasone, I'm older than you (will be 58 in August) and I totally sympathize when you say your willpower is gone. It's easy to give up, I know I did, and it didn't help matters at all, I just got fatter and unhealthier. My wakeup call, which was way overdue, happened this past Monday at the doctor's office when I weighed in. I have been in such denial for the last 5 years or so, but the numbers on the scale were so high, they finally shocked me into the reality if I didn't do something different, I wouldn't have much longer here on earth. And I really don't want to leave here, just yet. One of the first things to do is to get completely honest with yourself. Get on the scales. Then pull out a notebook and start a food journal, writing down what you ate and how much. You can even keep track online on some sites. It will amaze you, like it did me, how much I was stuffing my face. This practice really makes you keenly aware of every morsel, and it also makes you realize how you really aren't that hungry. There are several free websites that you can refer to for guidance. Also, try to exercise. Today I dug out all of my exercise stuff, and worked out for the first time in a long time for 30 minutes, and it was harder than I remembered, but felt good doing it. Then join a forum or two. The ones here are great. No matter how awful you feel about yourself, you are not alone. There are a lot of us out here, fighting the same battles. Good luck to you....See MoreI know it's a pill.......but......
Comments (10)Even short term use of psychotropic drugs has shown, in medical studies, to have permanent lifetime altering affects on the brain. One should very carefully reseach and read the 'cons' associated with any behavior-changing drug. The book called "Psychotropic Drugs", available from Mosby Publishing is a good read on these types of brain-altering drugs. Granted, short term use, carefully monitored, in a patient woefully overcome with addiction may be helpful, but only after all the healthy avenues, IMO, have been exhausted first. And exercise is key in maintaining an ongoing healthy lifestyle. Magic bullet pills often end up in the news later, as being detrimental to one's well being....See MoreWhat's for dinner Monday?
Comments (10)Glenda, oh my gosh! That all sounds wonderful. I do need to make that cornbread again soon. Isn't the weather just wonderful? I love it! Shirley, chili only gets better the more you reheat. I'll be making some as soon as it cools off a little--or maybe before. Sue, my back pain is really in the muscles just below my waist, so it really isn't back, but muscle. But it sure can hurt. I think it's either arthritis or sciatica but that Aleve sure did help. Oven-frying is about the only way I do fish anymore. It's so good. I'd love to have your dinner....See MoreRita / Bring Back Sophie 4 Real
