Advice on HVAC system issues

Hello. I need a sounding board. On March 30, 2017, I hired Fort Collins
Heating & Air to install a furnace, air conditioner, air cleaner and
humidifier. The system has been working
improperly off and on ever since. The
company has a policy of pulling out the system within the first year if the
customer is unhappy with it. I’m
considering these options: (1) Have the company have a COMPETENT team come in a
reinstall the system from top to bottom; (2) Have the company replace the
humidifier; or (3) Have the company pull out the system altogether. I would appreciate any insights you could
provide. Here’s the history:

·
The installers installed the system. The fan ran
all night after the first day of installation due to wiring problems. The wrong
thermostat was installed. My doorbell stopped working.

·
The QA person who checked on the install found
that the vent pipe for the water heater needed to be moved and that the
humidifier control needed to be repositioned.

·
The installers moved the vent pipe and
repositioned the humidifier, leaving eight holes in the furnace flue.

·
I sent FCHA a message about fixing the flue
holes and turning the doorbell back on. One of the techs showed up promptly to
fix the problem.

·
The furnace failed to operate shortly after
installation. One of the techs fixed the problem—a fuse that had popped out of
place.

·
One night when the temperature rose into the
80s, I came home to find my furnace running continuously, blowing hot air. I
called the after-hours technician to ask how to turn it off. He told me where
the switch was. I flipped the switch, opened the windows and ran my whole-house
fan to try to cool the house down. Fortunately, I was able to sleep in the
basement, where it's cooler.

·
The next day, I called FCHA’s, and they sent a
QA person out. He determined that a faulty motherboard in the humidifier was
causing the furnace to run instead of the air conditioner. He took the
motherboard with him and said he would get a replacement from the manufacturer.

·
Three and a half months after the system
installation, the motherboard hadn’t been replaced, and I still didn’t have a
fully functioning system. I contacted FCHA again about replacing the
motherboard, and a tech came right out and replaced it.

·
When cold weather came around again, my furnace
wouldn’t turn on. So I called FCHA yet
again. Their tech determined there was a
wiring problem. He fixed the problem,
and the furnace worked.

·
Earlier this week, I had an FCHA employee come
out to do an annual furnace inspection.
He told me that the system looks good overall, but that the humidifier
isn’t working.

·
Another technician is coming out next week to
look at the humidifier. However, I think
it’s the technician who said the motherboard needed to be replaced when, in
fact, there was a wiring problem that caused the system to malfunction.

What would you do in my
position? FCHA is very responsive, but
unfortunately, they’ve been unable to get my entire system running the way it’s
supposed to run.
