Removing small water stain from ceiling
Comments (18)I ran across this site because I wanted to find the best way to remove 3 water stains that were about 8 inches in diameter. I've used bleach and kiltz (color didn't quite match) in the past on stains like this. I tried bleach on these stains and it only lightened them. I don't know why but I decided to spray(while blotting with a towel) them with Clorox Chlorine Free Oxi-Magic Multi-Purpose Stain Remover and the stains started to disappear upon contact....See MoreHow to remove water stains on silestone?
Comments (2)Hello, If it is a hard water stain, try using a mixture of equal parts baking soda and white vinegar. If it is just water marks, try using acetone to remove and clean away with warm water and Dawn dish soap....See MoreRemoving white stain from granite countertops
Comments (2)That isn't granite; it's solid surface. I'd refinish that top in 10 minutes to like new for less than $300.00. If you're a DIYer, get yourself a $39.00 random orbital palm sander. Start at 80 grit and work your way up to 120, 240, 400, then a red ScotchBrite pad. Nearly impossible to screw up....See MoreHow to remove water stains from stainless steel
Comments (7)Christyne Ponchron: "I read on BFK’s website that it is not safe for stainless steel. Could take the finish off?" This may be referring to the "fake" finishes such as black stainless steel which has a polymer (plastic) coating that can be easily scratched and damaged. Stainless steel itself is an alloy of steel and chromium, with carbon, silicon, and manganese, and sometimes other metals such as nickel also added. The chromium component causes a very thin layer of oxidation on the surface, effectively preventing further corrosion or rusting. The oxalic acid in BKF removes the oxidation layer, which quickly reforms itself to a fresh surface. That's the point of it. BKF is mildly abrasive so a highly-polished stainless steel could be scuffed by aggressive rubbing. Rubbing with the polish marks (grain) helps avoid the risk. I used oily polishes for some years but they caused various degrees of smudging and smears. Initial use of BKF removed all that oily mess to a fresh gleaming finish, with reuse of it only as needed (not much) to remove water drips, fingerprints, and mineral residue (kitchen sink, hard water)....See MoreRockford Solar Supply
