Looking for a Sherwin Williams warm gray paint color
Comments (8)Hello, as a Designer, I use a lot of Sherwin-Williams paints. Two recent colors that seem to have those warm properties would be Perfect Greige (SW6073) which will be a great mix of both light tan and grey as well as, Light French Gray(SW0055) which is a beautiful clear warm grey. I like the trim for these two colors in Dover White (SW6385). In fact, I just finished a new medical center and we actually alternated these colors in the exam rooms. LFG on top and PG on the bottom, separated with chair rail in Dover White and then flipped the scheme every other exam room. The hallway was done in the single color of Light French Grey. Rather a nightmare for the painters but when completed, it has gotten so many compliments. I will be posting finished pictures of the clinic next week. I hope this information helps....See MoreWhich Sherwin Williams white paint color to get this look?
Comments (22)And I also caution you to evaluate your paint with all samples of all hard elements together - so any wood, stone, tile, carpet, major textiles like sofas, bedding, etc ALL together at the same time...again, pure white is great for cabinets and trim but something soft and not so bright for the walls will look more pulled together and ‘finished’. Your first inspiration pic where all walls and trim in all one color is not a bright white like Pure White. Your second inspiration pic which shows only trim/wainscot is probably a brighter white like Pure White however then I ask what was the wall color used with it and with what other fixed materials? If you want a complete white on white look like your first pic you will need to go darker than Pure White (IMO and Maria Killams:)...See MoreSherwin Williams Exterior Paint Color- Help!
Comments (12)Celery- That color was actually on my list and then for some reason I didn't get a sample of it. I didn't know gray was going out already! I do have Patricia- I live in a teeny little neighborhood with only about 6 houses and two of them have a greenish tint that I am not fond of. The thing is I have a weird tan/brown stone to my house so going sage would probably match better than the blue/gray anyway. We had some storm damage and my roof is now moire black from certainteed. It's definitely a strange looking home but the inside is what sold me on it. Honestly I feel like there's not much hope for curb appeal. I was going to go vertical board and batten style for the hardie board but clearly I am clueless if anyone has better advice I would very much appreciate it!...See MoreSherwin Williams Paint Color Help?
Comments (4)What color is one the walls now? The couch is gray, but certainly does have green undertones and I would like to avoid it to look any greener. Very pretty, looks amazing with the rug. Obviously in the greens hue family range. Contrast emphasizes hue so you'd want to stay in the same hue family range as the sofa - maybe counter intuitive but the amplification of color lies in contrast. And you don't want that. What undertones should I try to avoid? Here's the thing, colors don't have undertones. Undertones are just someone's subjective opinion about what a color looks like - to them - under whatever random light source there happens to be. Instead of guessing about undertones it's much easier to use the current color info (if you happen to know what it is) so we know what hue family doesn't work. That info and the color of the sofa provides direction about what hue family is the right one to shop for paint colors....See MoreOneRidgeOff
