Can I glue down a floating engineered wood floor?

I found an engineered floor that I want to install throughout my small house (750 sq. ft.). It's the click/floating variety and I've been told that with a floating floor I need to have a spacer in the doorways, i.e. some sort of T-bar between the hall and the rooms. I don't like this idea and wanted to know if it can be omitted if the floor is glued down. Or alternatively, if it's absolutely necessary to have it if it's floated. Thx.
