Help me design around my ugly painted beige kitchen cabinets!

My husband and I bought our house with plans to do some renovations along the way, and my #1 target was the kitchen and the ugly beige painted cabinets and biscuit colored appliances. We have gradually replaced all of the appliances with stainless steel and were moving toward the remainder of the projects, but with everything we have going on, we have decided that sanding and painting cabinets white will be too big and messy of a project for the current state of our lives. We are planning on moving again in 3-5 years, and the cost of new cabinets wouldn't be an efficient use of money in this house, so I am stuck design around the cabinets. My ideal style/color palette was going to be white cabinets, white and gray quartz countertops, slate blue/gray walls, and brushed nickel finishes. The kitchen is open to our dining area and living room, so whatever adjustment is made here will inevitably carry throughout the house. The only thing that has to stay is the nasty beige cabinet color -- we can change out new countertops, drawer pulls, wall colors, etc. Any design inspiration or ideas would be greatly appreciated! Please see the photos for the awful cabinets in question (as well as the spring green walls that absolutely must go).
