Comments (16)Crescent- Absolutly- The set is by Canadel. Go to Dinette Set LTD (521 Bustleton Pike Feasterville, PA-- Phone 215-322-4260) Owners name is Russell. He is FABULOUS! I had bought a table there years ago and once again he proved that my 50 minute drive was well worth it-- He was WELL below the competitors. He is a family owned business. From the outside the store doesn't look like much but inside he's got a great selection and he is super helpful. If you are going i would suggest booking an appt time with him so you get his full attension. He was so helpful with us. We even ordered stools that are Oil Rubbed Bronze look and it did have some wood on the top. I was very conserned b/c i didn't like the wood color. He said if i paid for the stain ($40)--- he would order it from Canadel and send it tot he stool company and they would use that stain on the stools... how cool is that. Great customer service!! Good luck and THANK YOU EVERYONE-- we revised the order today and we are going with the dark brown chairs (that have trully grown on me as something different--) I think i chose the other one b/c it was "safe" lol.... and i've been risky up to now so why change that!! lol (ie granite, caesarstone, and 2 different colored cabients) lots of risk- i was looking for the easy way out!...See MorePics of our DIY island with walnut top
Comments (28)Ah, y'all are so kind, I've got tears in my eyes. I'll make sure DH reads this thread when he gets home; he'll enjoy knowing so many of you like his woodworking. And his son just called him to say we're grandparents again so he's elated with that news, too. : ) Robin, our kitchen is 15x13 with several door openings to other rooms. It's got an old time feel since it's not wide open to the dining or family room like most homes today. I enjoy the cozy feel of it and since I'm the chief cook around here, there's plenty of room for me and a few guests who may want to hang out and watch me burn something. lol! amck, I am really touched that I have been an inspiration to you. I'm looking forward to seeing what elements you've chosen for your own kitchen. : ) loves2cook4six, I hear ya on losing some use of your home. For me it was the garage. I haven't parked in ours since last fall! Once DH decided to make the cabinets it became clear that the planer and jointer needed shelter way more than my car. I do love my cabinets, though, so I'll tolerate the situation until he can build a separate workshop - someday! I hope your DH continues with his new hobby and you continue to benefit from his creativity. socal, you made me laugh about the painting. lol I've painted a few homes but can still remember when my dad was teaching me to paint as a teen. I think I got more paint on the floor than on the walls. Keep practicing - you'll get the hang of it! Now back to painting those cabinets feet. I'm starting to really think we may finish by the end of the year. I promise to post more pics soon! Diana...See MoreWould love assistance choosing a rug and barstools for new kitchen
Comments (35)Terrible picture of new stools.... they are functioning fine but I'm not sure they're "THE" stools. I do have a bit if space so it's not totally necessary that they tuck under, if that makes sense. I do like that my girls can easily climb onto them... but backs might be nice too. I had some girlfriends over this week. My new kitchen functioned just how I hoped! We all surrounded the island and chatted for hours :) 2 friends whose opinions I value thought the wood on new bar stools was too dark and I should go lighter or maybe even white. Thoughts? Suggestions?...See MoreHelp with kitchen counter-tops is really needed...
Comments (42)for the handles, may I suggest something to pick up on the hues in the flooring? A little more copper toned. you have light cabs, light floors. I think throwing in a dark ORB w/o actual copper highlights would be too much of a contrast. IMO. cypress park Sandra, I like the porcelain one better than the other one. Does the backsplash have to be done immediately? If the tones in the porcelain tile you picked clash w/the ivory tones in the counter, it could be a problem. However, I did find some copper toned ones that should be avail. these are porcelain/SS, and treated so as not to stain or tarnish. I LOVE these for your kitchen. timeless and gorgeous. They are probably not super cheap, but it would be worth it for me. http://www.miusartmosaics.com/arabesque-lantern-beacon-copper-tile-in these would also work. the site is here: maybe they have them in stock.http://www.westsidetile.com/arabesque-tiles/ i like this one too. notice the copper faucet. beautiful w/the glass mosaic. if you got the cream countertop, this would look amazing w/your floors. this last one is a copper colored slate/quartzite....See Morewsea
