This reminds of the Superbowl I watched at a neighbors on their new very large TV (don't know the size, but it was huge) They had it set up in their family room which was very long and narrow and they put it on one of the long walls with the sofa and seating on the opposite. I went home shaking my head - it was SO uncomfortable!! Seating was way too close. Why not put it at the end of the room??? Good luck - and enjoy your big TV!

Our entertainment center is quite a bit larger but...We did storage for various video/ audio components and DVD's/CDs in our built in. We put regular cabinets on the bottom and hid everything behind closed doors. We used an infrared receiver in order to be able to use the remote while the doors are closed. The top was more like a bookcase with a space sized for the flat screen which we mounted to an articulating arm. For CD/DVD storage we had 2 narrow glass front 12" deep cabinets. I've also seen CD/DVD storage concealed in narrow pullouts or in drawers as well.

Again, agree. As I look at your photos, I have to wonder about rug fit. Your LR looks narrow because the hearth is in the room. So to make that dimension fit a store-bought rug, you might not get the length to cover the room more fully. It might be a good idea to put your room dimensions to paper, and then see how a rug would fit. An alternative is to buy a piece of carpet and have it bound. There is so much to choose from these days, and if you luck into a remnant you like, it is very economical. What room is next to the LR? You can also lay an area rug there. Two complementary rugs would be fine. And about tripping -- the rugs should be sturdy and substantial (with padding).

Yes Gaming Chairs. I can't post any pictures because for the future. I've got to be prepared. The shelves are for storing books. I can tell what i have in the room. I have a black flat screen tv. Two white shelves from Ikea. The stand the tv is on is white and touches the two shelves. I may be able to put a photo. Really the purpose of this thread is to get ideas for the future so give me some ideas. More Qs: What gaming chairs would you recommend? This is the model of the shelves i have. __________________________________________________________ Will an Ivy of some kind look good? What lamps would look good in gaming rooms?
