We have a small area in an upstairs loft that we'd like to improve access to during an overhaul remodel.

The floor space where the stairs or ladder would go is approximately 26" wide by 42" long. Considering it's not a huge space, we don't want to spend more than $3000. However, we do want it to look good as it will be very visible. It's in our living room and would be easily visible from the kitchen. Our aesthetic is minimal and high-quality. Any thoughts on what's achievable with this budget?
