Drop in sink to undermount sink
Comments (4)depending on the material you'll have an issue with how large the cutout would be. Even in quartz the front and rear rails will be quite thin. There are a few ways to deal with this, the best one being a "bump-out" at the sink location that makes the countertop about 3" deeper. Good choice if you have the room. Otherwise a good fabricator could give you a couple of options. One other consideration: drop in sinks usually have a larger radius at the corner between the vertical wall of the sink and the top flange. Not an issue if you want to expose the flange (which makes the cutout even bigger) but can be an issue of a bacteria trap if you are going with a slight overhang. from the pic yours looks like a fairly sharp radius....See MoreRohl Allia Fireclay Drop in sink -- anyone have?
Comments (10)I have had one in since December 07 and absolutely love it. It is probably one of my most favorite things from the remodel. I have had no problems and it is very easy to keep clean. I would definatley get the stainless grid. it allows for more everyday use without being so fearful of things banging the bottom. The size is great and can fit anything in to hand clean. With the grid I also use it to air dry things since air can circulate around it. Good Luck....See MoreKohler Prolific sink with square corner cuts for quartz countertop?
Comments (7)You haven't said what your tops are made of. If they're engineered stone, I'd look at the manufacturer's cut out radius recommendations. If they're porcelain, no square corners under any circumstances unless the sink was a TopZero. I just retrofitted a Franke into estone. I want as much radius as I can get:...See MoreA Water Drop on my Quartz
Comments (6)I am a fabricator. I agree it looks like hard water spots but it doesn't make sense that you don't also have the problem in the kitchen unless the sink has something like a reverse osmosis filter. 20 minutes is long enough for the water to evaporate and leave behind the mineral salts present in hard water....See MoreJoseph Corlett, LLC
