looking for Easy Fruit or Nut Trees for Zone 7

Thomas A
Have a lot of room to add some fruit or nut trees to my backyard and can find many spots with full or partial sun.

I’m looking for suggestions on trees that are easy to grow and productive in zone 7 (Long Island). A few things.

1) I would prefer no Apples

2) Would like a tree that is relatively big resistant. While loosing some fruit to bugs is understandable, many families I know with Apple trees lose their entire crop every year.

3) while I am intrigued by the idea of fog or paw paw trees, they sound finicky to me and challenging to grow.

4) Mulberries are Right up my alley but I am hesitant of the idea of the staining they may cause

Any good suggestions for easy to grow and productive fruit or nut trees in Zone 7?
