Help with Updates to Exterior Entryway
Any suggestions on light fixture updates or door updates? Should I stay with this door color or change to a different stain/color? Thank you for your help.

Comments (4)It sounds like the best solution would be to buy a brand that will fit under the window. It would be more convenient to have them side by side and facing the same way. You could also get a window blind with bottom up capability if the new machines are too tall, so you wouldn't see it from the outside....See MoreNeed some exterior help! Comments (12)The house has lovely bones. Definitely no shutters. I would suggest replacing the light fixtures. The security light over the garage is not adding any curb appeal and the light by the front door is blending in too much. You might consider a new front door if it's not adding much charm. A suggestion for the entry. You hanging lantern is currently too large and the wall lanterns are too small so they have been replaced. I'm suggesting the door to be solid, but the sidelights glass.
I like the dark gray door and would add matching gray shutters to all the windows.
Stain the exposed aggregate sidewalks. Trim all the bushes to the window sills.

6 years agoI like what Bev shows too. Make sure the shutters are sized right and functional looking - you have the space to do so. The other items she added, landscaping and a different walkway as well as an updated door with sidelights, makes your home much more cohesive IMO.

^This is to show sizing and hardware (hinges and shutterdogs), not shutter type. You need wide shutters because your window area is wide (two rather than one).
