Here are the new Permacast porch columns, installed this afternoon. I had ordered them on Aug. 13th, and waited and waited and then told they were on a two week back order. Finally they came in and then waited a week for the lumber yard to deliver them to my house. Called contractor twice but he never returned my calls. I found out this morning that he had been on vacation in Colorado! Good thing he called, I was going to give him the rest of this week and then I was finding someone else. ha. I think the columns look great. NO pitts, NO cracks, No seams. I was going to hire a painter but since they look so good and contractor didn't even recommend sanding, I'm going to do it myself. The only thing is they didn't countersink the screws that went in under the caps. Some were sunk better than others but he said he was afraid to tighten too much for fear the material would crack. I suppose I can fill them over with a bit of caulk before I paint. Probably be the only person who notices. Anyway thought I'd post an update. So far, I'd recommend this product to others. However, we'll see after painting how well the paint holds up to weather,ect. Thanks for all the input while I made my decision.

Breezy- You are not a pain!! You are wonderful and very helpful. If it would not be for you I would have a misplaced prep sink!! I was just looking at the paint chips. And then today I went to BM and one of their consultants helped me. She did not like the idea of the beige colors or the true grays. We both really liked "Gray Wisp" which is almost identical to RH Silver Sage (she had a color chip for it)and "Quiet Moments". The first is more green and rich and the second lighter and more blue. I am really leaning towards the first. She gave me really large swatches to take home and try out. So I will let you know what I find out. Also the mud on the drywall is taking longer to dry so the earliest they can paint is Friday. So I have a wee bit of time to figure this out. Slush- Would love to see your photos of Revere Pewter and Carrington Beige. Since the living room/hallway is all monroe bisque is probably a good idea that I stay away from beige for the kitchen/dining area since those two rooms open into the LR and that is just a lot of beige. Garden web was first on ivillage, which nbc purchased in 2006, until in 2013, i village was swallowed by today.com, which at around 2014 decided to drop( yes up for sale but no longer wanted by nbc) the GW forum. GW went live on houzz in Jan. 2015. Gw was looking for a new server to Save it, because short of a purchase today.com no longer planned to sustain it and that is why houzz was able to acquire it. Really, dispersing only half of stories and the side you like is misleadingly unhelpful. Also not acknowledging houzz' prompt response and repair to our gripes is plain rude. blfenton, I never did the three step sign up thing the other day maybe that is why it was back on my page.

Nope, you just haven't gotten the forced changeover screen yet, arcy. Sooner or later you will get a Houzz popup forcing you to choose subjects that interest you. After that, there's no going back. This forum looks just like kitchens then and has the same mess of irrelevant posts that used to be in other forums. My guess is they deleted the link to conversations because there are a bunch of forums that don't offer enough monetization opportunity that they mean to axe.
