It's a lovely kitchen! For many of us, change is hard. I had grave misgivings about my new kitchen when it was first installed - hated the glass doored cabinets, hated the crown trim, had doubts about the color. I got used to the cabinets - I had not realized (nor had my KD pointed this out to me), that all my inspiration pictures had one single unit, not separate boxes, so I surprised at all those seams. I think now, it could have been ordered without seams, but neither of use knew at the time. It was just a surprise and I don't like even good surprises! I found a way for them to add trim to the crown area and it looks SO much better. The color was fine when the walls were given a second coat of paint. When I change something, it's often a problem for me to figure out if I don't like it because it's "different" or because I just really don't like it. Time figures it out for you.... SO glad you're happy and I think it looks terrific. Yes, to painting that crown like the hood.

Here are your givens: 8' ceiling; warm cherry color cabinets: coordinating warm granite countertops. White plantation shutters. Pinkish looking fireplace surround. Yet you not only went with cool gray but two shades of it, chose two gray sofas, in a room with low ceilings, which gives a cave-like effect. Repaint the walls a clean, light warm white that harmonizes with cabinets, countertops, floors. Don't replace countertops now or later, but work with them. No accent walls to break up the white. No stick-on tiles, but the white and gray might be nice since you're going to have two gray sofas. To sum up: embrace your cabinets, floors, and countertops. Change wall paint--a lot easier than new countertops. Change fireplace surround. If you do white, then the gray sofa can be your gray. For contrast, introduce colors via art, pillows, rug that incorporate the wood color, off white, gray.

What do the floors look like in this room? Blue gray is an unusual choice for a Spanish style home. While I agree with you that navy is probably too dark, a vibrant blue would be more in keeping with the style. You could always mix natural wood with a color to keep it from being overwhelming. First prime those walls so they are white that color is skewing everything. Then make sure all the light bulbs in all the fixtures are LED 4000K then come back . IMO you either have the backsplash that was there or you remove that add a backsplash not both .Are you changing the floors ? IMO they do not work with gray so what was the reason for then gray?
