Does anyone know who makes these bar stools?
Comments (11)I don't know about those bar stools, but I can tell you we have very comfortable stools that are similar to a saddle seat but much wider and more comfortable. They are called Cabinfever sawhorse counter stool by Liberty Furniture. They are also not expensive - we ordered them locally and paid around $70 per stool plus $25 each to have them painted black and slightly distressed by our cabinet maker. We also did not want a back on our stools and found these to be the most comfortable option. We ordered many different stools from different places and found it is important to consider the height of the bottom rung where you rest your feet. This height is perfect. The seat top is 14x18" and comfortable to sit on and linger. We also have a couple extra saddle seat stools in storage that we bring out when we need more storage - so we definitely notice how much smaller that seat is - 9x18" The picture I'm linking has the sawhorse stool at the counter and it slides under nicely. Comments (13)I never mentioned acrylic. I did say plastic, which is an umbrella term that covers a broad spectrum of manufactered polymer material. You mentioned finding spices in bags without twist ties in the kitchen drawers and having to throw them out. The spices were stored in plastic bags, right? Or did I misunderstand? And you also asked if it was a good idea to bring Zip-Loc bags to the bulk spice store when you buy spices. It is a better idea to store spices in glass or metal canisters than in plastic bags. Plastic transfers air in and depending on the size molecule, contents out, since it is more porous than other materials. Since you mention acylic though..........like many other plastics, it has less than half the density of glass, so microscopically it is porous enough to let in more air through than glass. But this is not an issue for most short term storage. Haven't you ever discovered a forgotten food product stored in a plastic material, in your cupboard where the plastic felt sticky? It is because the contenets are working their way through the plastic. I hate all the new plastic packaging they have nowdays that replaced glass jars. Some plastics are just not meant for long term storage. The ones that work well for it are the ones that cannot be recycled generally. Also, I do not think that the bulk spice place will allow you to bring in your own bags but maybe they will. I am asssuming they weigh in the bag,s and by law the bags must be calibrated out of the measure. This can be done easily with the new digital scales though as they can be reset with a few punches into the program. Comments (4)Our company stocks and sells Mr. Direct sinks. We love the sinks, great quality for a great price. However, I ordered a faucet (the first one we've ever ordered) for my personal home. When I got it, I was extremely dissatisfied. The grain of the brushed finish went in several different directions, there was burn marks in some areas, and the overall quality was unacceptable. Being a supplier for them, I dont like saying things like this, but that was MY experience. They do have an excellent return policy and we have never had toruble returnign anything. I decided to just go to Home Depot and get a faucet there. This issue I had was a year and half ago, so it is very likely things have changed. If you order a faucet and are unhappy with it, I find it highly unlikey you will run into any trouble exchanging or returning it....See MoreStainless steel drawer fronts - anyone know a source?
Comments (8)As an update to this old thread, it looks like Maplecraft contracts production of its stainless steel products to Lasertron. You'll see an identical picture on both sites. Also, St. Charles has returned as a manufacturer of luxury stainless steel cabinetry in 2019 with a New York City showroom. Stoll Industries also does a nice collection of stainless steel cabinet doors with artsy touches....See MoreChisos
