LG Lomac CounterTop w/Integrated Sink-??
Comments (3)terry, do you mean LG Hi-Macs? Lomac is a drug. Hi-Macs is certainly comparable to Corian at a better price but it sure doesn't have more colors than Corian. Anyway, I'm sorry I can't help you with your sink concerns as I don't have a solid-surface counter. You may want to try searching "integrated sinks". One thing I know about SS sinks is that you need to run the hot water from the faucet before you pour hot liquids into the sink (like draining pasta) because the temperature shock can cause the sink to crack. Other than that, almost everything I've read about solid surface counters and integrated sinks is very positive. Nicole...See MoreQuestion for those who have Quartz counter tops, please.
Comments (35)I have Cambria Torquay and use Clorox wipes on them all the time. I use them to wipe down my counters, then follow it up with Method granite polish from Target (LOVE that stuff!) There is absolutely no streaking, haze, residue, discoloration, etc. I frequently put hot items straight onto the countertop, but try to use a trivet or pot holder most of the time. I'm not super worried about it, but I figure it doesn't hurt to use a little extra caution. I was given the option of having the sink cut-out finished into a cutting board, so I used that for a long time as a tester of sorts. It has held up to all stains and temperatures I've subjected it to. I was advised by the installer to use a it of straight acetone for any stains that couldn't be removed with regular cleaner or by scraping with a razor blade. That was four years ago, and I have yet to find anything that didn't wipe right off. And that's saying something, because I have young children. I absolutely love my quartz counters and would buy them again in a heartbeat....See MoreAnyone have Silestone countertops in Ocean Jasper?
Comments (215)@TerryShields, if your countertop slab is more tannish, in my opinion you lucked out because that is thw color I personally was wanting. Mine is more gray. It is beautiful regardless. Our Lowe's store sample as well as the sample from another place was the tannish I was wanting but when the slab came in, it was the gray. I will also let you know there are white spots of different sizes that were not visible in any of the samples. I would prefer they not be there but what's done is done....See MoreIf you have a pot filler, how high is it mounted?
Comments (31)A quick check on Wolf website states: " Some considerations: Place the pot filler high enough to fill the largest pot. However, if the largest pot is only used a couple times a year, it may be more practical to place it lower to accommodate a more commonly used pot. The pot filler should be placed to the right or left of the cooking surface to avoid reaching over the cooking surface to access. The pot filler can be placed above the cooking surface. However, it can get hot from the surface burners or a large pot. If the pot filler is not able to access all of the surface burners, locate the filler so it can access the largest surface burner. A typical height dimension is 12” to 18” from the cooking surface. However, always refer to local code."...See MoreRelated Professionals
