Check out Duron's Colors of Historic Charleston and Carolina Low Country Collection. Duron is owned by Sherwin Williams, so all the colors are available even though they don't carry the color cards in house. SW will match BM colors too. BM has some historic color collections. Buyaurapaint.com has a comprehensive listing of their colors. If you click on the color it will show you the LRV Light Reflective Value rating and sometimes tell you whether the color has a warm or a cool undertone. I have found this immensely helpful. Lastly, check out Lowes if you have one in your area. Their Valspar line has National Trust Historic Paint color palettes. I'll post the link below. If you find something you like, you can get SW to match it for you. A tip about Sherwin Williams. Go when it's not busy, typically a weekday after 10 am. The pros are all in there first thing in the morning. It might not be the right time to get someone to work on matching a sample. I've gone in in the mid morning or early afternoon and find that I have the sales person's undivided attention and get the match I'm looking for. BTW, two SW off whites I like are Westhighland White SW7566 (lighter) and Restful White 7563. Dover White 6385 is also pretty, but a bit yellow-er. I have a soft blue for my dining room ceiling, but I'm not going to do it for every room. First I am having a hard enough time picking paint for the walls of a 2500 sq ft home. The home is very open so I want the colors to blend. Adding in different ceiling colors on top of the various walls would be way more work than I'm prepared for at this point. Second I think the blue ceiling in the dining room will be a "pop" of interest. It will really make an impression. If every ceiling was painted it would get old and overwhelming rather than fresh and interesting. So White ceiling or antique White ceiling?

Thanks so much for all the great advice. I guess I'm looking for affirmation that the Antique Trim isn't too dark to use as a trim color just as much as I'd like to be sure that the Antique Trim will work with the Creamy ceilings. I just can't ask my dh to paint the ceilings again! They were BM Linen White before, but I thought it was a bit yellow. Since we had some roller marks and I wanted to change the wall color anyway, we repainted the ceilings Creamy. Susie - I definitely am with you as far as the sample boards. I had dh cut a large piece of drywall into 4 large sample boards to test out the wall colors - I've been placing them throughout the house all week! Now I need to do the same for the trim, I suppose. Dogridge - thanks for posting your experience with the Antique White as a trim color. My house is a larger open floor plan, but it's a one story that doesn't get a lot of natural light in many of the rooms, so I should probably buy some sample trim to test out the darker trim color throughout the house. My sister has a very off-white trim in her house, and it's gorgeous, but it's also a new house with extremely high ceilings - not a 1963 ranch!

We installed white cabinets and opted to have the trim (ie crown moulding) the same as the cabinets. The trim in the rest of the house is a white but I wanted the moulding in the kitchen to match the cabinets. Would make me crazy to see a difference with the right next to each other.
