Best store(s) to purchase Tomato Cages, Pro-Mix BX & Perlite?
Comments (4)I live in Northern Ontario, but I'll weigh in anyway. $25 is a good price for promix BX, so I don't think I'd look elsewhere. I pay $27 for mine. As for tomato cages I'd get the heaviest ones I could find and damn the price. The thin ones won't last more than a year or 2. We have heavy guage ones that we have been using for 30 years and are worth every penny we spent on them. Perilite I have't bought since I started using Promix, which was years ago. Promix has everything a plant needs to grow....See MoreSoiless planting mix

Comments (3)you are responsible for water... not some magic crystals .... do not use it ... imo and my biggest concern would be winter storage ... what would it do then??? ... i dont know.. but it might be an expensive learning experience ... again.. i would like to see the pot .... but i think the bottom line is you are going to have to figure out how all the variables work .. in your pot... since its so unique ... if you ever make another pot.. you might want to start with some common plastic pots .. and design the pot with those in mind and hand ... so you could do a pot in pot system.. and then store the hosta for winter normally.. while storing your hand made pot.. empty ... so it doesnt explode in winter.. with damp media.. that expands due to water retention ... ken...See MoreBest store bought potting soil for greens in raised beds
Comments (0)Hi guys, I am a complete beginner, looking to start by growing some spinach in a raised bed on top of concrete. The bed is 20 inches high, and I’m planning to put a few inches of gravel on the bottom, covered with geotextile membrane. I won’t have a ton of direct sunlight. I want to keep things as simple as possible, could someone recommend a good store bought potting mix? Thanks in advance for any help....See Morejerry
