Are you quilting this weekend? July 25-27
Comments (29)Finally got these little things together to go to a friend's first grandchild. (don't know if it's a girl or boy - they won't tell!) ..but I fell in love with a little pack of fat quarters, probably broke most every rule in the quilter's world (I'm hiding from the quilt police now!!! but they all get mailed tomorrow). There is the crib quilt, a crib pad, the little cradle blankie and board book. Saw the hourglass pattern for blocks on some blog somewhere and the rest was just 'sew as I go'.....and kept sewing and sewing because I was obsessed and ended up using every scrap of those fat quarters!! Now I've promised hubby to LEAVE my machine put away and do some cleaning and garden work......oh dear. Not sure I can do this..........................See MoreAre you quilting this weekend? Comments (4)I made a label for my Fiesta quilt and mailed it off to a friend of ours in California. She was a high school friend of mine and my DH. In fact, they dated back then. She has remained our dear friend all these years, and she has traveled extensively in Mexico, so I was really excited to send the quilt to her. I'm also packing my Scrappy Log Cabin Chevron in my suitcase to take to our friends in Chattanooga. I did actually make a few blocks for my Strip Twist quilt and will probably make a few more this evening while binge-watching Season 3 of Outlander. Season 4 debuts next weekend, so I want to review. A new grand baby! How exciting, Linda. My best wishes for an uneventful delivery....See MoreAre you quilting this weekend? January 18-20
Comments (13)Glad you are better, Linda! We're freezin' our bejeebers here. Even though it's 45°, the steady wind pushes the cold air right through a body. (Actually, it was kinda funny watching people scurry to their cars after church. Usually, the stand around the parking lot and chat.) I have yet to sew another stitch since attempting the January BOM. Good intentions & all, but life has been getting in the way. I really, really, really want to try making a snail trail block. Not sure why I have such a desire to sew one, but I've watched several tutorials this past week. Fingers-crossed for sewing time on Tuesday. If my test block works out, I'll be piecing a new quilt soon. Happy Sewing & Quilting!...See MoreAre you quilting this weekend? April 27-28
Comments (10)Linda, your Good Fortune quilt is so vibrant! Love the loopdy-loo quilting, too. Theresa, hope you keep feeling better & better, and your tests have good results. Donna, I had to go find a crinum lily - how gorgeous! Sharon, yay for packing and safe travels for all you lucky quilters going on retreat! Bev, hope the mood strikes and you're tucked into your sewing space this weekend. After the viral laryngitis, I was struck with a sinus infection. Finally had to take an antibiotic, yet the cough is lingering. It's been the pits; however, I got some sewing done today. I worked out the math, and cut and stitched up the quilt top for my niece's baby shower. I'll have to sandwich and quilt it later this week. It'll be a mad dash to the finish line as the shower is next Saturday. Her nursery is in the trendy gray & white. Actually, everything in her home is gray & white. Personally, I prefer more color, but I want her to use the quilt...so, I went with her color scheme. :) The quilt measures 39.5" square. Can't decide on a border. Might use up my scraps. Happy Quilting!...See Moreibquiltn4fun LindaH
