Have 20 blocks done on Linda's quilt. Will join them tomorrow and figure out a border. It was quite easy to do.

I had handbell choir retreat today. It was hard work, but lots of fun! Tomorrow I plan to cross stitch.

Yesterday I finished sandwiching a twin quilt and getting it pinned - ready for finishing. I plan to finish it as a tied quilt so I will work on that tomorrow. This will be a wedding gift for my nephew that we will deliver to Illinois week after next so gotta get the finishing touches added. Today was a day for family things so no sewing but if all goes well - it will be done no later than mid-week.

Still working on Bonnie Hunter’s Carolina Chain quilt. Finally starting to assemble it, although I may still need to assemble a couple blocks.

Need to wash the floor so I can sandwich a baby quilt top I finished before we headed to the Islands.

Down there I found one of those little metal spacing arms among a pile of junk in our wheelbarrow. Then it hit that it came from my walking foot box, which Irma must have blown far, far away. And a Bernina walking foot is now $240! I’m crying. My machine looks fine, but we stills don’t have electricity, and it doesn’t seem worth firing up the generator to test it.

I'm back in Colorado for a few days and babysitting for my granddaughter this weekend. I am getting some quilting in while she sleeps so hope to finish piecing a baby quilt for a friend of my sister's who is having TRIPLETS! My mom is making a couple tops, also, so when I get back to Arizona on Tuesday, I will FMQ them for my mom. Busy time!

I'm plugging away on my small block sampler. It's looking good so far. I have 25 done already. I try and do one a day and so far I'm keeping up. I am off to Mom's this week so will have a lull but there's no deadline. I agree with Glass - no more self-imposed deadlines.

I started a couple of weeks ago giving myself permission to work on what I wanted to. when I wanted to, and It has helped. Today I finished sewing the squares together for 7 strips for the second section of the elephant quilt I'm working on.

I worked on the never ending strings again this weekend. Didn't get a whole lot done as I am preparing for a work trip. Leaving Wednesday heading South to Davenport, Florida.

I've hit a snag on this log cabin. I've quilted one whole block and HATE it. Now I've got to re-think this and decide, do I want to rip out machine quilting and start over or keep on and try to tolerate it?

Rita, if it's a bed size quilt I would rip and start over. If it's small (wall hanging or table runner) I'd probably grit my teeth and finish and hope I like it better when it's done!

It's bed -size. :( So I've started ripping. I've decided to rip out the part that's in the dark part of the block and do something different with a black thread in those areas. I had picked gray which I thought would be a good neutral color for all over but it just doesn't work in the dark half. Also I had decided to do circular spirals in FM and my stops and starts are showing up too much. When I say one block what I really mean is 4 blocks together - each block is 11 inches so it's 22 x 22. The whole quilt will be 66 x 77.
