These walls are Dover White and the cabinets are very white. Not sure what it is because it’s the cabinet makers color. Just thought you’d like to see what Dover looks like with a white white. All the trim, door and walls are DW.

SW Drift of Mist SW9166

@Lori A. Sawaya I see this is an older post so hoping you see my question. You had suggested Drift of Mist with the Pure White. I've been trying to understand chroma and the suggestion to have at least .20 difference. I'm looking to use Drift of Mist as a color in my open living areas and there's a crisp contrast with Extra White (.32) but I'm really looking more for something a bit softer. Are you still recommending the Pure White (.44) with Drift of Mist (.58) to achieve that look even though the chroma difference is .14 (if I'm figuring this right)? Would BM Gray Owl (.47) work in the kitchen and look good with the DOM and Pure White trim throughout (the kitchen and family room open to each other).

The 0.20 ish difference in Chroma rule of thumb applies to pairing colors of white.

Color data values like Chroma are best used in a rule of thumb kind of way vs. formulaic or rigid prescription. For example, 0.14 could be close enough if the color combo looked pretty in the space.

In this case, both Gray Owl and Drift of Mist are too dark to be considered colors of white.

Paired with Pure White, there's enough contrast in terms of Value (lightness/darkness) so the 0.20 rule of thumb isn't particularly helpful.

Which is different from pairing colors of white that are similar in lightness (Value).

Using Gray Owl and DOM together gives me pause. Because they're very similar in terms of attributes and if the light isn't just right, you may not be able to tell that they are indeed two different colors. Might be simpler - and equally effective - to just use one.

So, look for that when you test and sample.
