Help with 50's ranch paint color
Looking for some feedback on exterior paint for a 50's brick ranch. We like the more modern darker color schemes and are leaning towards Benjamin Moore's Witching Hour. We just aren't sure how it goes with the brownish shingles and off-white gutters....I photoshopped this pic to give a good sense of what it may look like...Any advice?

PRO7 years agolast modified: 7 years agoIs this close color close to the roof? Doesn’t have to be exact, just trying to figure out the hue. If so, I think you need a dark taupe for the siding, not just any old gray. This is Taos Taupe..Ben Moore. Great with the off white gutters, but the bright white should be the color of the gutters.

Comments (4)I would paint the garage doors some color whose intensity mirrors the brick. I don't know what color because I can't see the roof color, which should also be taken into account. Comments (6)thank you Beth! I definitely had a laugh at your "Beige really?" comment! We tend toward warm neutrals, and initially we'd thought to just paint it a different beige with undertones that go with the yard better (it's definitely yellow-y at the moment), before deciding to go lighter. We aren't big fans of grey. I quite like the second photo, but again we run into a situation where a house two doors down already did the white/wood/black trim route, so I'll have to think on how to make it stand apart. The color scheme you worked up for the inspo photo is awesome! I think I'll try to get samples of Divine White and Jasper Stone and see how it looks :) The darker gutters are also an interesting idea - I didn't even think of that! Thank you too chloebud! I'm adding Swiss Coffee to the list too! :) I really appreciate everyone's help! I'm noticing an increase in people choosing darker colors for their home exteriors (in Southern California as well as the Pacific Northwest). I cannot say which of your options would be better. Here's another shot of the shingles. They appear far more red in that first pic - maybe because they were getting direct sun when I took the photo.... I like that darker color you suggested though. Unfortunately we have to stick with the off-white gutters for now, unless I want to paint them...Thanks for the feedback.
