Because commonnand hybrid Bermudas share a name, people tend to think that they're basically the same. While a dissected blade is going to be very similar, the overall plant habit is very different. Hybrid is dense and low; Common grows tall and loose. Personally, as I like things tidy. I would not want the latter unless we were talking about for 40 acres on the farm and were going to mow it with the tractor. Then fine.

It would help to know your location and the type of lawn you are growing, but that looks suspiciously like Poa annua, annual bluegrass. If so, there are scores of online sources detailing this weed grass and how to control but if established in a lawn, it requires pre-emergents, which are of course too late to be useful for this season.

I am trying to determine what type of grass I have and what’s invading it. Any help would be appreciate. I am in sunny California with no shade on my lawn. This is invading it.
