We just bought a cottage coastal house and our contractor suggested Popular Grey from Sherwin Williams. I had trouble in the beginning picturing the color, but it's probably my favorite color I've ever used on walls. I'm doing it throughout the house because we have so much art work that adds color (PG makes the color in the art pop). It also plays with all available light very well. Consider thinking outside the box especially for your location. It really is a different way of living. It will also do a lot for the way you think and feel about your living space. Have fun! Mike

Painting the brick is not in the budget. We are thinking of painting the trim. Adding larger square posts and shutters and painting the door. I need color ideas please. It looks very plain as it is.

IMO, the porch looks low and dark because that's where the roof line is lowest. I think putting rock veneer there will make it look even more cave-like. I also don't think it will enhance your tropical plantings and the feeling you're going for in the landscape. You might have the rough stucco under the porch knocked back to a smoother surface before painting.
