Has anyone ever used different cabinet brands for uppers vs lowers?

After reading a zillion threads here, I’m opting out of using ikea cabinets in our kitchen upgrade. (I’m still going with ikea for the guest house kitchen, however)

We want wood lowers and painted uppers. We’ve had painted everything for the past 20 years and while I loved the look, the painted lowers ended up chipped and scratched. Painted uppers held up and I think light painted uppers will help with a small kitchen that has limited natural light and natural wood walls and floor.

So far I’m leaning toward Conestoga lowers and Deerfield or Scherr uppers.

Conestoga has prettier wood options, but they don’t offer some organizational upgrades I really want for my uppers.

Deerfield has all the options I need for my uppers so can do one of their painted cabinets. Scherr has the options and can also do a custom door for a few of the doors.

Conestoga lowers, one of these

And one of these for the uppers, most likely the antique white.
