Thanks Parma! Rob, I think with the right rods and fabric it could work. The one thing I keep thinking about for mine is adding a horizontal wrought iron piece in the middle section. I hold off though because I think it may detract from the WT's. I think adding something in the middle like an iron piece or doing something similar to what Christopher Lowell did would look stunning. Mine are only 1 width because of the small space on the left near the FP. I also wasn't able to add finials but honestly unless you are standing on the second level, you can't really see them anyway. Looking at your picture, it appears you would have the same issue as far as finials are concerned. However it looks like you could if you wanted have the panels made in 1 1/2 widths. That may also take up some of the space in the middle. Finally I like the molding in the photo that Caminnc posted. That is another alternative. I vote for panels but obvously I'm biased!

lazydaisynot--- I have green accessories in my kitchen- dish towels, green legs and backs on my kitchen chairs, green legs on my table. I can paint them gray/slate to tie them in and not call so much attention to the green. I do think the blue in the quartz is subtle, but I don't know if I can ignore it. I do think it looks great with the floor. Have you seen the cambria waterford? I want to believe that I don't have to add blue to the other rooms in the house. As I said, green runs throughout my house, but it is a cool green, not a yellow-green. Maybe I can just put some green and blue canisters and/or napkin holder on the counter to to pull out the color but not replace the green. I really do like the waterford quartz countertop. If I follow my heart I would get it. It's just that my head gets in the way and I want to be absolutely sure. It's a curse!! Anyone else care to comment?

I would do an inset treatment on the windows flanking the fireplace and the windows flanking the slider. You may not need them for privacy, but I think you are responding to the large expanse of "black hole". It's a conundrum really. I need treatments for privacy, at times, but instead of a black hole I have very nice, well lit, (and one "famous") view of a city at night. People who live in the country and have a great day view have nothing but blackness at night. (And I imagine snipers out there.) There isn't room for trim on the windows flanking the fireplace, in any case, and a treatment can't be outside mount on the inner sides due to the mantel. You do have the room to inset on all those windows and it would prevent the projection of treatment and hardware on the angled windows near the slider. The most functional treatments for a slider are either conventional curtain panels or a vertical system. I know right now that it is popular to put a horizontal treatment on a slider but the horizontal treatment must be fully UP and OFF the slider for the door to act as a door. I do not think this is particularly practical. If you don't need anything for privacy on the slider I would consider leaving it untreated, because you don't have much room for a vertical treatment. There will be a consistency of its own in this too: A fireplace or a door flanked by windows with window treatments.
