Would adding a polished nickel light fixture be too much? I'm considering one from Restoration hardware. Unfortunately I can't see it in person, can just order online.. If I do that then I'd have 3 metal finishes in my tiny kitchen! Unless I choose a nickel finish for the faucet..

Thank you. It wasn't even that difficult, but my fingernails were dark gray until I soaked them. I just couldn't believe they were brushed nickel looking under the gold. I didn't even remember they made brushed nickel anything 40 years ago. They could be older than that. The best part is that I was able to use the original long screws. If I had bought new knobs, the 1" screws that came with the new knobs would have been useless to me. I would have spent more money on new screws. I still have three bathrooms to remodel...every nickel saved gets me more money to spend on the bathrooms.

@hallettco I love this idea. My glass fabricator is saying he doesn’t typically put u channels on walls, only along the base, and puts clips on the wall. I wonder if I can push him to do the white u channel on the wall as well and settle for a gold color that doesn’t exactly match for the hinges. My shower is in a corner, so I have one full-panel glass wall, then on the adjacent wall, a small panel, the hinged door, and another small panel (we have a towel warmer going on the wall so we need the door to be in the center of the glass panel so it doesn’t open directly onto the towel warmer if that makes sense). I really want to minimize the amount of non-matching clips and hinges and the finish choices are all slightly off. I think we’ll have to go with the one that has a slightly yellower tone. I know there are white clips but I think those will end up looking cheap and motel-y.

Honestly this one of those dilemmas that make me crazy if this was the plan from the beginning and you knew the glass knobs were not going to match why did you choose the other hardware i nthat color. IMO get the knobs now that you like and I have to say no one will ever figure out they don't match the faucet really move on.
