Comments (30)Guapa is a Whatley tet. My earlier picture is from 2016, but it wasn't remarkable. Usually, it reblooms. It's large, with an interesting throat/ penciled eyezone. Here are two pictures from 2015: June 27, 2015 And this was August 18, 2015. A lavish flower on rebloom....See MoreRoses "G" 2017
Comments (16)Erin, I got GEMMA many yrs ago from Pickering Nurseries in Canada. They're no longer in business, unfortunately. We used to get some really unusual roses imported from Europe from them. I miss them!! Anyway, she's a pretty good rose. For several yrs I had her in a really bad spot, with little sun and lots of neglect. She rarely bloomed. But about 3yrs ago we had to redo our septic system, and had 4 trees cut down. Opened up a nice big area in the backyard. I made several new beds (still working on some of them) and I put her in one of the DA-type-roses bed. She went nuts being out of that bad spot! She was always kind of tall, but she filled in a lot! The plant is about 4.5ft high and 2.5ft wide. She blooms quite a lot. I don't remember if she has any scent tho. Here's a couple more pics......See MoreHosta Blue 2017

Comments (24)So glad you wrote to let us know how things are going for you. Wow, you're thanking us for keeping you going? You know us hostaholics NEED hosta in every way we can get them---buying, planting, pictures, talking, reading etc. So you, my dear Paula, have helped us get our hosta fix! I thank you so much. And the jokes you add are priceless. Where do you find such funny jokes!? Glad you are almost over your radiation treatments for round 1. Yes you are one of the lucky ones. The cancer diagnosis is a shocking one. My closest friend (of 40 years) was one of the lucky ones too, and my sister too. But it does take time to heal physically and emotionally. I sense you are one tough cookie! LOL I have confidence that you will continue to get stronger and stronger! I am sorry to hear about your friend. That is sad and heartbreaking news. Take your time Paula. Be good to yourself. And---it would be really nice if you could drop in and visit the forum before December 26, 2018. December 26th is just too long to wait to hear from you! Thanks for the reminder about the mammogram! I am due....See Moresandyslopes z6 n. UT
