GE Profile CounterDepth Refrigerator - Need Photos of Freezer
Comments (0)Hi. I posted this in the appliance forum to but I know the kitchen forum gets a lot more traffic. Does anyone have the GE Profile counter depth refrigerator (PSCS5RGXSS)? Its a side by side. I need a photo of the freezer, just the freezer. I can not seem to find photos of it online and I want to show my hubby. Thanks!...See MoreRefrigerator Q's- French Door or SxS, and Counter or Full Depth?
Comments (16)We had a full size sxs before, replaced it with a counter depth french door, and couldn't be happier with it. Aesthetically, I like the fact that the fridge doesn't jut out. Functionally, I know that it is smaller, but appreciate the fact that things aren't getting shoved into the back and forgotten about. The crisper drawers keep my veggies much better than my old fridge did. My husband loves it because his frozen pizzas fit in the freezer (they didn't fit well in our old s x s). Organizationally, I feel like the freezer drawer is a vast improvement with the sliding top compartment and drawers on the bottom. Overall I can say that we would likely not get a s x s again. With all of that being said, here are the cons. We are only a family of two so obviously don't have the storage needs of many people. The large items that we store on a regular basis are a gallon of milk (in the door), and pitcher of tea on one of the shelves. I can see that if you have a lot of "big" items, they just wouldn't fit. There is much less door space for condiments. I am a cooker and like to prepare most things fresh, but I love love love my condiments and find I struggle to fit them all in. I like mostly fresh veggies, and after my weekly grocery shopping trips, I have trouble fitting my purchases into the two crisper drawers (and yes, this is for 2 people) but after a meal or two, the space opens up. This could obviously be remedied by me just buying my fresh veggies on a more frequent basis, but I get by. FYI - I got a Samsung French Door Counter Depth (http://www.samsung.com/us/appliances/refrigerators/RFG238AARS/XAA). Even with the cons, I like it very much....See Morecounter-depth refrigerators: most don't seem to be counter depth.
Comments (25)Why Hamma? Because most Americans say they need humongous refrigerators/freezers. I hear people say they need to store the meat they killed on a hunt. They have very large parties every weekend. They cater large parties. They have many children who need many snacks all day long. Maybe they live many miles away from the nearest grocery store or supermarket. One of the posters above mentioned pizza boxes and soda/beer can boxes. (Not sure why you'd need to put a whole pizza or beverage box in the fridge.) Personally I have none of those issues. I do not like nor need a large hulking refrigerator. Counter depth is a cost-effective way to avoid the behemoth fridge look in the kitchen. Yes, they do protrude a few inches, but not as much as a conventional depth one. I have the same KA counter depth fridge (cost $2,000) as Anglophilia in my vacation rental home, and after 7 years it's still working fine, and looks great. In my primary residence we went for a 42" side by side built in Subzero, which protrudes only about 2", but is much more expensive ($9,000 retail). Fully integrated Subzeros are totally flush with the cabinets, and require expert installers....See MoreNeed counter top and back splash Advice for a Modern Remodel
Comments (21)I think we are moving in the direction to do the island, perimeter counters and backs splash (all the way up the wall) in the same White Santorini Quartzite. Any feedback on this? Im sensitive to adding too many different materials into the mix. Is this too much of one thing?...See MoreA R
