Help with dimensions for a max use Super/ Lazy Susan
Comments (6)No idea if this is helpful. I think an asymmetrical supersusan could be made if your cabinet makers are skillful. In my sketch, the center mark indicates the center of rotation for a super susan, not a pole. The drawing on the left shows the susan in position so that the doors can close The drawing on the right shows the susan rotated so that it protrudes beyond the cabinets for easy access to the contents. Note the asymmetry of the wedge shaped cutout due to the differing depths of the two cabinets. This does assume that you are willing to use part of the 24 inch cabinet for the susan. Otherwise you would have to use one of the pull out access devices like those suggested by ajc71. No idea if this is useful--or even if it can be done. It just occurred to me and I wanted to share it with you....See MoreSuper Susan...Rev-A-Shelf of Omega?
Comments (1)I can't help with those specific items, but I just got a Rev-a-Shelf 3" filler pull out spice rack and I can tell you it's HEAVY. It's not flimsy in any way. It's not installed yet, but I was worried about it being flimsy and it's not. It seems very sturdy....See MoreSuper Susan options with frameless cabs, full overlay slab doors
Comments (11)I looked at the Suzie-Q but was hoping to avoid the central pole. I have two with poles now, and would like to skip those next time. Ours are 25 years old, and no adjustments needed, just get a little sqeaky from time to time. I will have two corners, one will be for the bulky things, so definitely no pole there. The other will be for heavier pantry-type storage, so maybe the pole is not such an issue for that one. I now have one diagonal with one door and one pie-cut with two doors. It's a little inconvenient, but not a deal-breaker in the larger scheme of things. I know what you mean about the finger-smashing-- had a close call at a friends house recently. Not sure what you mean about a spring to prevent it, jakuvall-- how does that work? I haven't discussed this with the cabinet maker yet-- was trying to get as far along as I could before that. Thanks for the picture, Ann-- I see that it can be done, now I have to figure out if it's a good idea. Did you have the finger-smashing problem?...See MoreScrew up to work in my favour- getting a Super Susan- Pics plse!
Comments (4)Here's a picture of the one we put in the kitchen in our last house. It wasn't easily adjustable as the braces screwed in - they weren't just pegs. I stored pots & pans, mixing bowls and a few pottery serving pieces on it, but it could have held much heavier things (small appliances) with no problems. I stored big cutting boards on the edges - there was just enough room between the turntable and the cabinet wall to prop a couple thin items up vertically. I also stored my splatter screen there.
