I'm new to this forum, so please forgive me if this topic has already been discussed. I have the opposite problem of Futurehope. I am 5'5" and my spouse is 5'7". Most of the sofas and chairs we have tried lately leave us sitting with our legs sticking straight out and our upper bodies leaning well behind the vertical. Not comfortable, to say the least. What furniture makers could you recommend that make sofas with seat depths of 19", 20.5", or 21"? We loved the feel of Berne's sofas, but I recently learned that they're going out of business. :-(

Am happy w/ moderately priced Smith Bros of Berne sofa. http://www.smithbrothersfurniture.com/ It is not my "first" sofa; for that one, wish I had not bought high quality. Got tired of the size & style, well before it needed to be replaced.

IMO the bakers rack doesn’t work in the space at all I would do 2 chairs in a fabric that works with the sofa and the rug . I am a bit confused since it appears there are 3 sofas in the space and what are the flowered pieces ? Maybe take some pics from further back that show the whole space. I don’t see any end tables and I do see a lot of clutter like for instance the fairy lights on the railings and all the stuff in the DR and on the bakers rack . It is really hard to get a feel for the space so please better pictures for sure.

DON'T buy the loveseat - they are the bane of good seating arrangements. Unless you have a courting couple in the home who like to snuggle, a love usually seats one person. Most people don't like to sit that close together. Even on a 3-seat sofa, they tend to leave an empty space in the middle so they can turn and face each other for conversation. Get two upholstered armchairs instead. I think you'll want to paint your home anyway, so first change out the lights for 4000K LEDs. That will give accurate daylight color. If you plan for this sofa to last more than 3-5 years, then get a neutral color that will work when you decide to change rugs, curtains and accessories. If you like to change your decor every 2-3 years, then just get the color you love. Paint is the last item in a decorating project because it can be custom blended to work with the fabrics and textiles in a room.
