The bucks stopped here. Can you help with my dinette?
Comments (45)After selling your set on CL check out the one in your area for MCM pieces selling for a song. This MCM baby is listed in my area for $200. You have to look at pieces with a good eye for how they can work in a new space. Imagine this with really cool chairs in your space. Most people photograph their items in the garage or basement, or with their current funishings which do not do a piece justice. I think they have the bases reversed though and they should be facing curved outward: With placemats you won't be looking at your dinner guest's feet and legs....See MoreChanging dinette into small play area, suggestions for privacy blinds
Comments (16)@grapefruit1_ar....Yes, I was also surprised by the closeness of the houses too. Its a newer construction and they are all built that way. Some have detached and some have attached garages, ours is attached...so we have no yard, just the side space and a little next to the driveway. I do have a porch in the front, which is nice and also a small landscaped area in the front. They are trying to build kind of like a community, they have planned for building 1500 single family and townhomes. They will also build a playground, swimming pool, clubhouse, sledding hill, amphitheater, biking/hiking/jogging trails, park-picnic areas, soccer field, future school and future retail stores and small offices. That's why the houses are crammed together with little yard space and I guess they expect people to come together in common areas like a small town feeling, which is what attracted me to the place....See MoreWindow Treatments for tricky kitchen and dinette areas

Comments (16)If you prefer a cozier feel and you really don’t need privacy you really need to pick your battles. If you don’t want to cover the transoms and only cover the bottoms IMO you are shortening the walls visually. You cannot treat the aquarium window separately. Your best bet is to treat them all the same with very sheer panels right to the ceiling. If not you are going to have a hodgepodge of various treatments which is going to over complicate the space....See MoreJ Humphreys
