Ack.. fingerprints all over my granite. What am I doing wrong?
Comments (6)I've noticed that my counters (Labrador Golden Flake) are much easier to clean without streaking, smearing....for a period of time after I've applied my sealer (which states on the can that it brightens/polishes/protects). I had re-sealed them in December and have noticed over the past few weeks what a PITA it's been to clean the tabletop section (which happens to be more highly polished than the other sections). I kept having to go over it with a dry microfiber after cleaning it with our granite cleaner to buff off the residual haze left behind after spraying on the cleaner and wiping/buffing it with one microfiber cloth. I did a quick wipe on-wipe off with the sealer earlier today (just to "polish" the counters--it makes them very glossy, which we like). If past experience is any indicator, it should make it easier to clean without the haze and repel some fingerprinting and smudging as well. I'll let you know if that's not the case this time....See MoreWhat is wrong with my Ohio Buckeye tree? It has spots all over it.
Comments (7)The tree was much bigger. It was planted two years ago. I was not home the first summer and only six days last summer because I was in hospitals, rehab, or nursing homes. Last year alone I had neck surgery and four lumbar back surgeries. It along with most of my saplings got chewed off by rabbits over winter. I thought it was done but it sprouted again. It grew to the size it is very quickly and stopped growing. The bricks have only been around it about two weeks to keep my nephew from taking it off with a weedeater. Rainfall for last month was below normal and temperatures have been above and below normal. Yes, it is in Midwestern Ohio....See MoreLiving room help! What kind of rug to use in my living room?
Comments (3)What are the big red scratch-outs? Furniture you aren't keeping? First step is the couch, second is the rug and third is the paint. Paint color should be based on fabrics and textiles (seating and rug) in the room. It can be custom blended, but the furniture is set in stone. When you shop for the rug, it should be 2-4 feet wider than the sofa. Slip it under the front 1/3 of the sofa and have it extend past the ends by 1-2 feet. You can use painter's tape on the floor to figure out the best size for your sofa and room. I'd replace the dining rug too, so the two are coordinated. In addition, push your TV credenza against the wall and put the TV on a swivel base to adjust for viewing....See MoreCalling all detectives.....shop my living room
Comments (552)If the art doesn't work for you, it may be time to let it go. I understand how that works. Right now I have a 24x36 framed flamingo poster in my guest bedroom! Next year, who knows? Is IKEA the only option for you? Where would you put your other lamp if you put one behind the chair? This is from Target. https://www.target.com/p/globe-head-floor-led-lamp-black-includes-energy-efficient-light-bulb-project-62-8482/-/A-52011634 I'm not sure I see a lamp back there though. If the large plants aren't working for you, what about something like a wall planter with succulents or air plants? https://www.target.com/p/decorative-wall-sculpture-black-project-62-8482/-/A-53477921 Or a piece of the woven wall art that's everywhere now? https://www.target.com/p/15-34-x28-34-hand-woven-cotton-and-wool-wall-art-opalhouse-8482/-/A-54572890 https://www.target.com/p/12-34-x-18-34-white-woven-wall-hanging-opalhouse-8482/-/A-77643970 Or a colorful African wall basket? https://www.etsy.com/listing/698589448/african-wall-baskets12-rwanda-basket?...See Moresonni1
